At Fort Weyr, our biggest goal is to encourage RP for everyone! That means that, mostly, our OOC Rules for Weyrlinghood centre around two core concepts: consent and ICA=ICC.

We ask that our players communicate with one another before introducing topics or text that might be sensitive or triggering. It never hurts to ask!

ICA = ICC is simply that your character's actions have consequences, for good or bad! It is best to think through your character's actions ahead of time to make sure you are okay with the potential consequences.

We highly encourage players to pursue storylines and concepts that they find entertaining! So long as everyone involved is consenting to the scene, the consequences are realistic (and discussed ahead of time) and the concept falls within the realm of possibility within the universe (no going Between to the moon, okay?), we say ‘go for it’! With… a small caveat.

Namely, if you are interested in pursuing a line of RP (whether a single scene or multiple-scene storyline for your character) that might fall into a grey area, we ask that you please @mail Fort Staff first so that we can discuss those potential consequences ahead of time. Our goal is not to squash the fun, but to make sure that everyone is on-board with what could happen and there are no surprises later.

Otherwise, enjoy your new bond and get out there and have fun!

For IC Rules, the following apply:

Sex:

Sexual or emotional relationships with other characters (be it another weyrling/resident/rider) are prohibited until your dragon has matured enough to cope with the outcome of these feelings. Generally, this rule is lifted entirely when Weyrlings are set to move into their own weyrs.

Alcohol:

Alcohol is also prohibited until your dragon has matured enough to cope with the sensation of having their rider tipsy or drunk. Much like the above rule, this restriction is lifted entirely Weyrlings are out of the barracks, though the Weyrlingmasters may still highly suggest limiting consumption.

Weyrbound:

Unfortunately, the downfall of becoming a weyrling means that you are Weyrbound until your dragons have been given clearance by the Weyrlingstaff to leave. Usually after your character has become successful in the manned flight, your dragon can leave the grounds of the Weyr. However, only after you have learned Betweening may you leave Fort’s immediate region.
