Br’enn | Tovihasuth | Tovihasuth and Br'enn were among the first pairs to be taken out by M'icha for testing and first glides. Tovihasuth did fairly well - in the air. Landing still needs work; the little bronze ended up with a faceful of snow on his last attempt. Naturally, he's determined to get it right, and is a bit resentful of the fact that he has to wait to try again and isn't allowed to practice on his own. | Impatience abounds for Tovihasuth this week; mount ups and downs were fun at first, until he realized they weren't actually going to be allowed to fly that way. Walking around with Br'enn on his neck helps, though the fact that he tires from the exertion for now is frustrating. Between wanting to glide more and itching to get in the air with Br'enn mounted, the bronze weyrling is being hard pressed to keep control of his lifemate…but is mostly successful, at least. | Br'enn has let Tovihasuth into more of his mind - parts that he'd been working to shield his lifemate from before. Tov knows what Rynn means to Br'enn now, and while he may not understand the particulars of what their relationship entails (or will entail again, once they're past weyrlinghood), he knows that the brown weyrling makes his rider happy, and that she's important to him - so the bursts of intensity that come with that aren't bad things. It's a relief for Br'enn to be able to let those things free to his lifemate, allowing him to finally voice some much-needed thoughts to Rynn herself. How her lifemate is handling that may be another story, however. |

Ha’ze | Kainaesyth | In an almost stunning turn of personality, the outgoing Kainaesyth has almost totally faded from his interactions with the other dragons. His hide as dulled to an unhealthy gray, and his mindvoice rarely reaches out to the others. While he still awakens with the sun and sleeps with it, his overall activity levels have dropped to the bare minimum. The dragonhealers all scratch their head and say that there is nothing wrong with Kai. | During the wing-test Kainaesyth's lethargy caused him to fail it completely. To hear his faint mindvoice, it just takes too much effort. Can it stop being cold now please? | Where once frustration rang between dragon and rider, there is now a sense of almost constant anxiety. It's clear that Ha'ze is worried about Kainaesyth, and he almost hovers over him when not called away to other duties. He might even reach out to one of his weyrmates at some point to see if they could help rouse his dragon. |

Thys | Rhenesath | Early on in the month, things were pretty normal for Thys and Rhenesath; Rhen was getting on as well as a weyrling could, while Thys spent her spare time studying and reading. | Then things went downhill… and Thys contracted that nasty flu that was going around, from an encounter with Nyalle after the Weyrwoman returned from the Healer Hall. Thys was quarantined in one of the ground weyrs to recover, and missed out on lessons during that time. She was down with it for a long while, near enough the entire month, but seemed fine enough, if a little pale and easily tired, when she emerged to rejoin classes just before unmanned flight began. | Despite an initial panic, Rhenesath didn't seem to be too concerned about her rider's condition; she didn't freak out, didn't mope, didn't make a fuss over anything and was surprisingly calm about the whole ordeal. She'd sit on the ledge of the ground weyr and watch the Weyr go by, and she'd take down her own food (that was lucky timing!), and even take part in the stretching with her other weyrlings, even though Thys wasn't there - though anyone asking the young gold would know that it was Thys who insisted her lifemate take part, so she wouldn't get too far behind. |
Annah (NPC) | Amidaeth | Little Annah seemed a little lost without Thys around, who's become somewhat of a big sister to her since candidacy. But, she threw herself into her lessons, and even tried to be a little more friendly with the other weyrlings. | A lapse of concentration on Annah's part - or was she intentionally pushing too hard? - saw Amidaeth gently sprain one of her wing muscles early in the month. Annah panicked over it, and is now super-careful with her lifemate. | If there was such a thing as a 'model weyrling', Annah would certainly seem to be trying to make herself into one. |
