With spring comes mud and trader's wagons, and with mud and wagons comes stuck wagons, which means dragonriders are often landing to help pull things from the muck and repairing washed out trails.

It started as a normal operation when Th'ero and Kimmila happened upon a stuck trader wagon and Varmiroth helped pull it free, but then they took note of the beasts. One dead, the other dying with labored breaths and coughing. Beastcrafters were sent for, the remaining animal was killed, and then the carcasses were taken to the Hall for autopsy while the Crafters went to Fort and Peyton Hold, the last locations of this wagon and its doomed animals.

Is there sickness afoot? Some whisper that Th'ero and Kimmila had to strip down to nothing when they returned, and were sprayed down by Weyrsecond D'ani, a Beasthealer. Others scoff and say it's nothing, probably a late winter cold, and pass the steak please.

As always, time will tell, but the leadership looks tense and some might notice that none of /their/ dragons have hunted from the pens.
