Fort Weyr - North Bowl
The northern end of the bowl can be an intimidating area, being that Fort is the largest weyr. The far north wall contains the gigantic opening to the hatching caverns, and to the west of that can be seen the sprawling ledges and carved stair cases that mark the way to the weyrleader's complex and junior queens ledges. The west cliff wall towers up, dotted here and there by darker openings that mark individual weyrs before it tapers to a point at Tooth Crag. At ground level on the western wall is the opening to the weyrling barracks, occasional glimpses can be caught of newly paired mates. On the eastern wall of the bowl is the entrance into the living cavern, the heart of the weyr.
Talmar is walking out of the Hatching Caverns, a box of small clay eggs in his arms. Some are painted to look like the eggs on the sands, although none look quite right yet.
Senkyou is carrying an egg in her hand, shushing her dragon who follows her with a persisting humm. The sandy egg sits in Senkyou's front pocket is now crooning and she shakes her head, whispering to Dulacth. "What do I do? You picked this stupid thing up, rock my butt!"
Talmar frowns slightly at the commotion. "Excuse me, sir, may I help you?" He calls everyone sir, regardless of gender. The potter turned candidate moves closer, curiously. "Fort's duties." he adds belatedly, not recognising Senkyou as a Fort rider.
Senkyou nods, "Ya-ya duties, whatever.. I got a bigger problem." Still holding the egg she lays it down sighing and glaring at her dragon, not watching the egg she gives a lecture to her bond. "How many times have I told you about picking up rocks? I always told you one day it would cause me grief… See! It wasn't a rock it's an egg Dulacth.."
Talmar leans forward, with a frown. He examines the egg closely, then shrugs. "Eggs are good though, aren't they?" he nods at the box of clay eggs he's carrying. "I'm making clay eggs to look like the ones on the sands, at the moment. Because eggs are good." little repetitive there.
New World Egg
---
At first glance this egg blends in with the sand around it, a sea of sand that seems to never end. Off in the distance though, a keen eye may see the crown jewel of this dull egg. A palace far in the distance, white ivory walls tower high topped with golden domes a true masterpiece sitting in an endless ocean of sand.
New World Egg wiggling back and forth a sand storm in the desert makes it hard to see the palace in the distance, the little egg wiggles and rolls along the ground, it's first adventure and it isn't even hatched!
Senkyou watches the egg and asking, "Do you have any meat? Can you get some? This little thing is about to hatch an' I ain't going to have it goin' wild or anythin' might as well impress the little bugger to someone." Senk looks at Talmar, not seeming to have listened to his egg speech.
Talmar jumps backwards in shock, then approaches the egg again, more cautiously. "Um, is it /supposed/ to move like that?" he asks Senkyou, with a frown. At Senkyou's question, he frowns. "I think I have a meatroll…" he digs into his pocket for several moments, and pulls out a meatroll. Ew, he was going to eat that after having it in his pocket, with only Faranth knows what else?!
New World Egg taking another jump, just where the palace would sit in the scene on the shell it cracks and rolls hitting a rock.
Senkyou nods, "I hope this little guy isn't to picky, 'cause even in my opinion thats disgustin'
Falling out of the egg, the hatchling sneezes and tries to look like she wasn't just thrown from her own palace
Sultan's Daughter Green Hatchling
---
Light green covers this little princess; her body is petite and looks like a fine piece of green glass rather than a living being. Teal green tints her small eye ridges, fading into a lighter lime green down a long sensual neck that reflects the suns rays and glistens with inner beauty. Long graceful wings are bright emerald, and sit on a strong back that supports her well. Thin haunches make her appear almost feminine, as her body curves and her tail follows behind her like the back of a gown.
Talmar sticks his tongue out at Senkyou. "It's not that bad. I always carry meatrolls around like this. An' I eat them, too." he protests, then gasps as the egg hatches and the hatchling sneezes. "So. What do I do now?" he says, waving the entire meatroll in front of the hatchling awkwardly.
Sultan's Daughter Green Hatchling looks at her surroundings with distaste, the princess should not be here, not at all! Peering up at the large form of Dulacth, she turns back to the ground in front of her. Walking in zigzag sorta pattern she arrives at Talmar's feet, looking at the shoes like it personally offended her highness.
Senkyou watches and instructs, "Shake the meat, or do whatever you wish just try and attract her. I don't wan' her, I have a child, a dragon a weyrmate and wingriders to keep in line I don't have time for four firelizards"
Talmar frowns down at the hatchling, then crouches down on his knees. "Um, hello?" he says tentatively, having no idea of what he should be doing. He looks at the firelizard, then breaks the meatroll up into smaller bits, putting one on the ground. But he's not quite sure what the little green would like, really.
Sultan's Daughter Green Hatchling bites down on the meat, hungry enough to take anything she accepts the food and moves to hop on top of Talmar's lap.
Talmar quickly feeds his new firelizard, frowning slightly. "You'll need a name, won't you?" he murmurs, softly. He glances up at Senkyou, and smiles. "Thanks. She's beautiful." he says, politely. Then he says softly, "Jasmine."
Senkyou chuckles, "Don't thank me, you'll hate dulacth when hse has to eat so often. He found her, you thank him.. and send any hate mail to him as well. That's D-u-l-a-c-t-h"
Talmar shrugs slightly, feeding the little green the rest of the meatroll. "Well, okay. Thanks, Dulacth." he says, cheerfully. He doesn't realise just how much he's gotten himself into here, and he was already busy with trying to be a candidate and an apprentice potter at the same time.
