Snow-Dragon!

Fort Weyr - Center Bowl

The wide center of the bowl is often bustling with activity as riders come and go. Off westward can be seen the entrances for the candidate barracks and the guest weyr, while to the east is a large opening that leads into the dragon infirmary. The bowl stretches off both to the north and to the south, where the sheer stone walls rise steeply to the sky.

It's mid day in , and the weather is crisp, and cold, as it usually is in winter. There's still plenty of fresh snow about from the recent blizzard, though some of it has been cleared away by dragons taking off and landing. From one area of the bowl, there's the distinct sound of 'brats having fun in the snow. Moydeo is out there with them, having gotten sacked with nanny duty once again

Ayana got lucky. It's her off day on chores, with more people coming in, so the Runner is cheerfully plowing through the snow and having fun throwing snow at the kids and then hiding so it'll seem the snowballs are coming out of nowhere. Now, where is Moydeo,,,

Pralius enters the bowl from the general direction of the dragon infirmary, pulling his jacket tight around his shoulders. Then the sound of kidlets catches his ears and he turns, moving off that way. He takes a snowball to the face before he even gets all the way to Moy's side. Wiping half-melted show from his face he smiles at Moy, "Hey. Kidlet duty? Need some help?"

There's a loud warble from the sky and suddenly a blue dragon can be seen circling in from the air in a slow decent. Dalasith lands softly onto the ground, careful not to land anywhere near the various people scattered around the area. A'di unbuckles himself from the dragon and slips to the ground, "It does look like a good day for playing in the snow." A'di says quietly to the blue who's already bouncing off towards the kids, he wants to play too. "Play nice!" Honesstly, the dragon's like a kid himself sometimes.

Some of the kids giggle, and laugh at hitting the healer in the face with a snowball. Theres some working on small forts of snow, while others work on making more of their 'weapons'. Some lob 'balls back at where the ones Ayana are throwing are coming from, though most might miss, since it's just in the general direction. Moydeo sighs, and looks at Pralius as he arrives at her side, and nods. "Yes, I'm out here while the other nannies went in for lunch." She says, and one can almost guess that was just a good excuse to dump the kids on the poor candidate alone for a while. She looks up at the arriving dragon, and waves to A'di, and Dalasith. "Hey A'di! Dalasith." She greets them.

Ayana pops out, flings a ball at Moydeo, and scuttles out from her snowpile to wave at Moydeo. "How'd you get stuck out here?" She asks cheerfully, bowing respectuflly to the new rider.

Pralius chuckles softly and nods, "Kids are fun." As evidenced by the 7 turn old currently wrapped around his leg. The leg gets a shake and a shove, "Go play, ratling. I'm not a toy." He shrugs at Moy, "Okay, so maybe they're tolerable." he grins, shoving the kid back to the group. Dalasith's recognizable warble and shadow earn a big grin and a skyward wave, "A'di! Dalasith! Good to see you both. Dalasith's in good color."

There's a sight twitch at the bow, a hand roaming through his green hair as a brow arches. "You don't need to be formal." A'di mumbles under his breath. Dalasith looks more than happy to play with the kidlings. «Let's sing and dance and play games!» The dragon happily croons at the kidletts. A'di just shakes his head, "Yo!" A hand is raised in greeting to Moy and Pral, "Nice day to be outside, isn't it?" A quick glance to Dal, "He's always in good color. Just hope he doesn't convince their parents to take one home as a pet."

Pralius chuckles, nodding at A'di, "That's true…" An eyebrow raises, "Take one home as a pet? If you're lucky they won't want to be just like him when he's done."

Moydeo gacks at the snowball from Ayana that smacks her in the shoulder. "Aha, hey Ayana, what do they have you doing today?" She asks the other candidate, and then looks at Pralius, and chuckles at the 7 turn out clinging to the healers leg. "Yeah, sometimes they're better behaved then others." She agrees, just not when they're outside, in a fresh layer of snow to play in. Several of the kids run to the blue dragon to play with him, plopping snow on his hide if he'll allow it. Moydeo blinks at A'di. "I hope he doesn't want to take any of them home, I could get in trouble." She chuckles.

Ayana says, happily enough - "I'm off. Non-duty day. I get to hang around, but I decided to come play and help." She notes, and then chuckles at A'di and Pralius. "We're not allowed to take any home, that's for sure. Moy, have we gotten any new candidates?"

Pralius chuckles, nodding at A'di, "That's true…" An eyebrow raises, "Take one home as a pet? If you're lucky they won't want to be just like him when he's done." He flinches slightly as he's sprayed by some of the snowy shrapnel from Ayana's lobbed ball, then chuckles, "I think she's playing snow-wars." Leaning down to join in, he lobs a half-formed snowball in the general direction of Dalasith and the gathered kids before asking, "Get a chance to go shopping yet, Moy?"

A'di just shakes his head as he considers the dragon, laughing quietly under his breath as he watches the children pile snow at him. The dragon evan lays on the ground to allow the kidlets better access. "I'm not sure, Dal's just Dal." A'di murmurs under his breath, watching the dragon for a moment. "not that /I/ would allow it anyway. I don't want to deal with a kid all day long." He grins a little and looks at the others for a moment. "Well, Dalasith hasn't really searched any people since Moy, she's the only person he's ever searched. Not that he really remembers anymore…." Dalasith chomps playfully at the snowball thrown at him, warbling happily at Pralius. «What a /wonderful/ throw!»

Moydeo shakes her head at Pralius. "No, not yet, hoping to see if I can on my next day off." She says, and nods to Ayana. "Enjoy it, they'll probably have you working your butt off tomorrow." She chuckles, and watches the kids with the dragon. She knows the dragon wouldn't purposefully hurt one of the kids, but the kids could still fall or something. Some of them will clamber onto limbs, and tail to be able to get the snow higher. Oh A'di, you might wind up with a snow dragon after this.

Ayana frowns, biting her bottom lip. "Then whose new bunk is that? I know Karona but theres' someone else that just came in…"

Pralius grins, balling up another snowball, tighter this time and with a better throw this time, arching towards the blue. Who could possibly resist playing with Dalasith? "I'd forgotten he'd searched Moy. It all kind of runs together anymore." He chuckles, then nods to Moydeo, "Well, if I'm free I'd be glad to go with. Apparently I need to pick up one of my outfits because they won't pay the sixteenth mark to have it delivered." He rolls his eyes some, then shrugs, "Besides, I do want to see you in blue." Ayana's question gets an honest smile. Pralius doesn't know that she's sweet on Joseph, "It's Joseph's. He got searched last night."

Wyndrei exits the Dragon Infirmary blinking some as her eyes adjust to the bright light of a snowy mid-day. Snowballs fly and Wyn ducks, pulling back to narrowly miss one that zings past her head, making her giggle a little bit. "Hey guys.." she says as she walks toward Pralius & Co., eyes darting this way and that to watch for more projectile snow.

A'di lets his eyes wander towards Ayana, shrugging his shoulders, "There's always new candidates coming in every day, they need more for the eggs. But I'm pretty sure it's going to slow down pretty soon." A hand runs through his hair again, he can't help but shake his head. "I need to take a off day more often, it's nice to relax every now and then." Indeed, for once Dalasith is actually staying rather still to allow the kidlets to climb all over him. "Just be careful of his wings, please, don't mess with his wings!" A'di calls over to the kidlets. Pral gets a quiet nod from the bluerider, "Yeah, I'm still surprised he actually searched someone, he was proud of himself for quite a few days for searching Moy." His fingers idly pick at the purple polka-dotted yellow riding jacket on his body, "Don't remind me about outfits." Grump. Chomp goes the snowball, Dalasith lets out a draconic rumble that oddly sounds like laughter. At least someone's enjoying himself, even if he's going to be a snow dragon soon.

Moydeo blinks at Ayana. "Oh, right, Joseph got searched yesterday, that's his bunk." She says to Ayana. "Sabrinas brother?" She says, and nods to Pralius. "Yup, Dalassith searched me, gave me the tip that I should wear brown, blue and white." She says. "Which I plan to go with, if I ever get a chance to go shopping." She says, and looks up, waving to Wyndrei. "Hey Wyn!" She calls over to the dragonhealer. "Yes, becareful, kids are having fun in the snow." She chuckles, and nods to A'di. "Yes, the hatchlings have to have plenty to choose from." She aggrees witth the rider. Some of the kids not distracted by Dal start throwing snowballs at eacch other again.

Ayana waaah?! "JOSEPH?!" She flails and a well-timed snowball dumps her into the snow, spluttering.

Pralius chuckles softly, mid-way through throwing yet another snowball when Wyn appears. He decides to finish throwing before he turns to Wyn with a smile, "Hey you… How's that bronze doing?" A'di's jacket gets the usual grin, "I still say it looks nice, A'di." He glances back at Dal, then chuckles more, "He loves kids, doesn't he? Not surprised he searched Moy, then, her being so fun-loving and all." He nods again, "How many from the lower caverns are standing? There was one lad of 13 or 14 who I treated a few days ago seemed to think he'd be standing." Ayana's yell actually makes Pralius duck for cover, then he's laughing… hard, "Yes, Joseph. what. Are you sweet on him?"

Wyndrei sidles up to Pralius and then smiles over at Moydeo, "I see that they are.." she says of the children-and-snow covered dragon. "The bronze if faring better than his human counterpart, I'd wager..he can at least eat solid food if he wants.." and she nods her head. She looks between those standing near and then smiles at Ayana, "Have we met?" she asks, studying the girl. "I'm Wyn," she offers, just in case.

A'di's eyes shift to Moydeo, considering the candidate for a moment, "It'll be nice when everything quiets down again. I'm rather looking forward to seeing the eggs hatch." He watches the kids a moment, "I don't think I've met Sabrina's brother yet, maybe I have, I can't remember." His attention shifts to Ayana, a brow arching, "Are you all right? Need help up?" And then Pral gets a frown from the bluerider. "Nice? I think this jacket made you go blind, Pral. It's ugly. I wish I could get rid of it, I thought I did…" A hand idly lifts up to wave at Wyn, "Heya, Wyn. How are you today?"

Ayana groans, and hangs her head, shaking it at Pralius. "We … well … we … erm …" She gives A'di a sort of beeseching glance, then makes it to her feet, brushing down all of the snow she got covered in. "I'm Aya. Ayana. Not to be confused with Ayame." She comments, wryly.

Moydeo nods to Wyndrei. "Good to hear the bronze is doing alright." She says, and then winces. "That poor rider, how's he doing?" She asks, and looks to Pralius, since, well, he's the human healer, evern if he is just General practice. "Has his firelizard been causing any more trouble?" Sheasks, rememvbering the little green she had had to distract so the healers could calm the dragon and rider. She blinks at Ayana, and moves over to the girl, and offers her a hand up from the snow, if she wants it. She then looks to A'di. "I admit, I'm glad that Dal didn't suggest polka dots for me. Pralius thinks I ought to get stripes though." She says, and looks at the healer.

Pralius nods, turning a tad solemn for a moment, "He's as put back together as he's going to be… the surgeon says he'll be able to eat again eventually." He grins again at A'di, sending another snowball flying towards Dalasith since the previous had gone wide, "Perhaps. Just don't tell my mentor or I'll never hear the end of it." Pralius smirks at Ayana and chuckles, "I doubt anyone could be confused with Ayame. She's…" He blushes slightly, "One of a kind… not necessarily in a good way." Moy receives a gentle headshake, "She's been fine now that bronze and rider are settled," then he chuckles, nodding, "They'd make her seem a little taller, I think."

Wyndrei smiles over at A'di and waves to him, "Hello there.." and she can't help but study the jacket a bit, "Well.. you could benevolently offer it to a person who looks cold.." she says with a playful grin to the bluerider. She defers to Pralius for an update on the fallen bronzer then smiles at Moydeo, "I do think she was looking for her savior, however, when she finally awoke.." and she winks to the girl. She crouches and collects a handful of snow, patting it into a ball, best to be armed just in case, right?

A'di arches a brow ever so slightly at Pralius, "You know, if you like it so much, you can have it. I just think it'd be too small for you, you're too damn big." He rolls his eyes, his attention quickly turning to Ayana. "Ayana? Nice to meet you, I'm A'di, and the blue lump is Dalasith." And then his attention turns towards Moy, wiggling his brows playfully at her, "I could always influence him, you know? You could take the jacket." Because then /he/ wouldn't have to wear the sharding thing. his attention turns to Wyn, and then Pral, "Did something happen? Did someone get hurt?" Dalasith happily snaps at the snowball, his tail twitching ever so slightly but still keeping in mind that there's kids climbing all over him.

Moydeo nods to A'di. "Yesterday a green rose to mate, and one of her chasers got slammed into a ledge, then his poor rider got socked in the jaw by another rider, and had his jaw broken." She explains, the healers can fill in the finer details if they want, and grins at Wyn. "Aww, I might have to drop by the infirmary then, and see her before the rider and dragon go back to their Weyr." She says, and shrugs at Pralius. "Might be a good idea, long as they're nice stripes." And not like the polka dots on A'di's outfit. She blinks. "Uh, uh, no thanks." She says a bit nervously

Ayana ducks her head. "I adore Ayame. She stood up for me when we were younger." She explains. A'di gets blinked at, and his polkda dot outfit. "Like it." She approves, and shakes her head, watching the blue.

Pralius grins at Wyn, snowball half-packed before he gets solemn again, nodding to A'di, "Mating accident. Q'lyven's bronze got slammed into the bowl wall. Then Q'lyven got his jaw shattered by the winner." He sighs, shaking his head slowly, "It could be worse though. They both lived." The offer of the jacket gets a grin, "Tell you what, A'di. You get one in my size and I'll wear it." He nods to Moy, "Of course nice stripes, maybe light blue on beige…" He nods then to Ayana, "She's nice enough… just a little genitally focused for my tastes."

"Nice to meet you Ayana, and I don't know Ayame either so.. we'll see how well I do at not confusing you two.." and she grins. Wyn glances over at Pralius and his offer to wear the jacket then her eyes widen some at the genitally targetted comment, but she says nothing, content to just spy around, tossing her snowball up in the air a few times.

Pralius, you've just met your doom. A'di's eyes get a rather mischevious look to him and he slowly rubs his hands together, there would be manical cackling, but A'di's not that insane…yet. Cough. "Alright, you're on. I'll go back to the weavers and have them make one up for you!" There's a oh-so-innocent look about the bluerider. Poor Pral. "You sure you don't want one, Moy?" His head tilts to the side, considering the candidate, "I mean, all I have to do is tell Dal you'd look good in it, and he'd agree." Beam. And then the rider just frowns, sighing. "That's…horrible. I hate flights…hopefully they're okay?"

Moydeo nods to Pralius. "Of course." She agrees with him, and then quicklky shakes her head at A'di. "Oh, no no, no thanks, I think I can manage again." She says, and giggles. The kids meanwhile keep throwing snow on Dalasith, though some get distracted, by getting hit with snow balls from other kids, and take off to join the snowball fight again, man, do these kids ever run out of energy?

There is a large chunk missing here due to power outage on my part. If anyone has it, feel free to add it. ^^

Moydeo nods, and giggles a little. "I think I would want to, too." She nods, whether she's agreeing about the jacket chasing them off, or the running away from it screaming is hard to tell, maybe just both. SHe nods. "I hope so, ugh, I hope we don't get anymore snorers, guh, we must have three or four by now." She says. "And it is, but always good to have people to help out with the chores." She agrees, and looks to the kids with Dalasith. "He certainly likes kids, doesn't he?"

A'di sighs quietly as he moves to take the jacket off, dusting it off with his hands to glare at it. "I hate the stupid thing myself but…" His eyes trail off to glare at the dragon responcible for the horrible abomination. "Dalasith thinks rather highly of it. Apparently he found where I stashed it." Sigh. "I remember trying to sleep in the barracks, I'm so happy I finally have my own room. My sisters were horrible too when I used to live with them with mom and my step-dad." A hand runs through his hair. A fond smile is offered to Dalasith, "He'd like cold-blooded murderers if I'd let him. I don't think there's much you can do for him. Sometimes I think I should let him get looked at by a healer and see if he's all with it." A finger taps at his head.

Pralius runs returning back to where he'd left his friends, sad to see them primarily dispersed. After taking a few deep lungfulls of air he manages to say, "Sorry. Another case of flu in the infirmary. The call us all in when the serious ones come in so we're all apprised. I'm so sorry, A'di." He holds his hand out to the blue rider "If you still want to put me in one of those jackets, it's a deal." He glances at Moy and nods, "Sorry…"

Moydeo nods to A'di about the barracks. "I know, I was lucky enough to hacve my own room down in the residents caverns, kind of missing the quiet it provided." She chuckles. "But I don't regret agreeing to stand." She says quickly, incase A'di might think bad of that. "Oh yes, glad I only have one brother, but there were other kids at the hold, it was always interesting." She says, and looks at Dalasith. "Aw, don't change him, I think it's kind of cute." She admits, and looks as Pralius comes running back. "No flues in candidates yet, I hope?" She asks.

A'di just shakes his head and slips the jacket back on, tugging it over his arms and zipping it up, it's too sharding cold anyway to not wear the silly thing. "Flu? Hopefully they're okay?" He'll still not admit he'd been sick. "You're getting one. Don't worry." He winks playfully at the healer before his attention turns back towards Moy, "You should have dealt with my sisters. They live here, I visit them every now and then. They're still up to their old antics." He groans quietly, rolling his eyes in annoyance. "Just because I'm the 'little brother'." Emphasis on little. "And they're twins." Which makes it hard to tell the two apart. "Dal's just Dal, I'd never change anything about him. But that doesn't mean he gets on my nerves sometimes." he chuckles, "He's still the best thing that's ever happened to me."

Pralius nods, "they'll be okay, we caught it early enough." He reaches down, retrieving his previous ball of snow and tossing it at Dal, "No, the candidates barracks haven't been hit yet. You should be careful, though Moy." He glances back out at the playful blue, "Dal's… I hesitate to say amazing. You know him better than me, but he's the only dragon who's ever talked to me."

Wandering in from the living caverns, Ashri is bundled as per usual, though her scarf is merely wrapped around her throat, rather than over her face. Her satchel bounces at her side, and in one arm she carries another book. Ravi sits on her shoulder, bobbing with her steps and curls, watching with interest their surrounding before a snowball nearly smacks him for one. With a startled squawk, he takes flight, Ashri making a startled but then amused noise as she spies the kids, rushing toward Pralius and co just in time to hear something about the barracks. "Hit with what?" she asks as Ravi settles cautiously back on her shoulder.

Moydeo nods. "Good to hear, amazed we haven't caught a flu or something, considering they make us walk so far to the barraccks in the snow." She says, and in blizzards, and anything else that happens to be going on. The poor abused candidates. "I'll be careful then." She says. "I don't want to get sick, and be asked to leave candidacy."

Dalasith chomps at the snowball, crooning loudly at Pralius, at least someone's enjoying himself, right? "Dal's just Dal." A'di says off-handedly, waving a hand the air. "I honestly think sometimes he'd be happier with other people I'm not really all that exciting one. He's the interesting one of us." The dragon gets a quick look, "Yeah, well, I need to tell him to keep his voice to me and him and act like a real dragon instead of the silly dragon that he is." The bluerider shakes his head slowly, turning his attention towards Moy. "It's really only important that you're well when hatching happens. You can't be sick on the sands, it's understandable beforehand. Just don't get too sick."

Having finished a lively game of chase with the little stinker and his posse, Wyn jogs back into her group of friends, bright eyed, cheeks pink, breathless for a moment. She bends and puts hand to knees and about that time a *whuff* sounds off as a snowball lands right against her tush. She darts upright and turns, "Hey!" then the boys run off laughing and she shakes her head. "Hooligans.." she says with a giggle. "So..what'd I miss?"

Pralius nods, still mostly watching Dal, "I'll be doing full checkups when they think the hatching is imminent, just to make sure no one'll keel over on the sands." The look he turns to A'di is actually a tad sad, "But… I like hearing Dal now that I'm used to it…" As if to prove his point, he lobs another ball of snow for Dal to catch. His eyes light up when Wyn reappears, "hey you." He can't help snickering at the reason for her reemergence.

Moydeo is enjoying herself! Honest, is just stuck having to watch the 'brats as well, and make sure they stay out of trouble, for the most part. She giggles at Wyn as she returns. "Have fun?" She asks her, and then giggles more as a snowbal smacks into the girls backside. She then nods to A'di. "Alright, I'll remember not to get sick too close to hatching." Which will be hard since she has no clue when that even will be. She nods to Pralius. "Good idea."

A'di's eyes flicker towards Pralius, sighing quietly. "I just wish he'd get it through his head that not everyone enjoys him talking to them." A'di mumbles quietly to himself. Dalasith remains perfectly still while the kids continue to make him a living, breathing snow dragon. His neck arches to snap at the snowball, catching this one in his maw as well. Apparently he likes this game. A'di offers a smile to Wyn, "Not a whole lot, really. We were just sitting here talking, wondering if I should get Dal's head checked." The rider chuckles quietly.

There's a quiet scrunching of feet as A'tien makes his way into the central bowl, his hands idly stuffed into his pants. The bronzerider pauses to let his gaze trail over the gathered people, his eyes falling on the bluerider in particular. "You're still wearing that hidious jacket?" He asks with a doubting voice, "You should be careful of the kids climbing on your blue. They're likely to destroy his wingsails." And then his attention turns towards the gathered people, pausing. "How are you all? I need to try sledding here sometime, I'm curious if it's anything like surfing…'

Wyndrei grins at Pralius, "Heya.." she answers then she looks to A'di and grins, looking to the blue, then back again to his rider, "Well.. I don't know he seems rather charming to me.." she says with a nod. A'tien's arrival draws a wave from the dragonhealer and she smiles, "Well..I'm not sure, since I went down on my belly…" and she snickers a little. "Much to the chagrin of those waiting for me to bust it.." and she glances to Moydeo and Pralius.

Moydeo nods in agreement to Wyndrei. "Yeah, I like Dalasith just the way he is." She grins, and moves over to said dragon, as one of the smaller kids slips a little. She then looks up at A'tieens arriveal, and bows to him. "Hello Weyrlingmaster." She greets him. "Oh, the kids are being careful, they've only climbed on his tail and legs." She says, though they've probably tossed snow onto the wings.

Pralius nods sadly, "Hope he'll keep talking to me if you manage it, though." He gives A'di a slight nudge, "Dal's head is fine. Just different than most." Another snowball goes flying towards the snowy blue. Moy gets a chuckle, then A'tien is closing in. Pral gives him a nod, "Hey, A'tien. We went snow surfing early, got this," he indicates the scar on his lip, "as a prize. Remember, Ely doesn't like getting pushed down hills." He moves to Wyn's side, giving her a light squeeze, "Your butt's wet."

A'di's face turns towards the Weyrlingmaster, coughing quietly into his head, "I'm keeping an eye on them, they're not doing anything dangerous." His eyes flicker quickly towards the blue, as if making sure the kids haven't injured the poor blue yet. "They're just having fun." his fingers idly fidget with the jacket, "Dal likes it." And the bluerider goes silent, at least till Pral nudges his side. "Huh? Oh…well, I like him too." As much as the bluerider grumbles, he probaby wouldn't last long without the cheerful blue around. Wyn gets a quick nod, "It's just a joke, I wouldn't change him for anything. He makes the day manageable."

A'tien's brow arches slowly as he considers the blue, his lips pursing in thought. Finally, the Weyrlingmaster will nod towards the bluerider, "See that you do." And then his expression softens slightly, turning towards the others. Yes, the bronzerider rather likes making an example out of A'di. This is not the type of rider you want to be. "Please, call me A'tien. I'm not much for formalities unless the situation requires it." He turns quietly towards the snow, "I'm rather fond of surfing, I was hoping that I could teach something similar to the candidates, I found it helped me come over my nausia…"

"About surfing, a few of the kids a few days ago were doing snow surfing, down that a way." Moydeo says, pointing toward the south eastern bowl. "You were supposed to stand up on the board to go down the hill, I went on my stomach though." She admits. "Ah, alright A'tien." She says, and keeps an eye on the kids, moving to the other side of Dal as well, since it's hard to see both sides of a ddragon, even if Dal is a small one.

Wyndrei grins at Pralius, "It'll dry…eventually.." she says with a twist to look back at her damp rump. A cute one, but yes, wet. She glances back to the blue and smiles, looking to A'di, "I figured.." she says of his joking about the blue's mental capacities then A'tien draws her attention and she inclines her head. "Hello," she says before grinning over at Moydeo. "Well no one said I couldn't ride on my belly.. and I really wanted Ely to lose that bet!" she chirps.

Pralius chuckles, "Yeah, Ely lost the bet, then split my lip." He chuckles softly, "Still, it was fun." He grins at A'tien, "You like surfing, then? I haven't done it on the water before…" He can't help following Wyn's glance toward her rump, then blushes profusely, quickly looking away when he realizes what he's doing, "So… snow?"

A'di chews on his lower lip for a moment and then pokes at his jacket, his eyes flikcer up towards the weyrlingmaster for a moment, after the man's attention turns away from him. He sighs quietly a hand running quickly through his hair. "Surfing? I don't think I've ever done that…you got naucious?" Now the rider is curious. At least Dalasith seems to behaving himself the dragon is actually…quiet for once.

A'tien's cheeks go a interesting shade of red and he quickly coughs, "Yes. I picked it up when I was a weyrling." The bronzerider mumbles under his breath suddenly shifting nervously on his feet. "I couldn't really fly on dragons without getting sick. I figured the motion of the waves would help me get over it." A hand rubs at the back of his head, his eyes flickering towards the ground. "It turned out to be different on Cereth, but I rather enjoyed it…I still surf from time to time back home."

Wyndrei /just/ catches Pralius' glance and grins as he looks away but she lets it go, so as not to embarass him, her grin quirking, her expression revealing mischief in her thoughts. "Oh wow I hadn't thought of that.. surfing.. to get past motion sickness.." and she smiles. "I've traveled around enough on dragonback that it doesn't bother me anymore, really never did to be honest, I always find it exhilerating.. at least now I keep my eyes open.." and she giggles a bit.

Moydeo blinks, and nods. "I hadn't thought of it either, but, glad it worked out for you A'tien." She says, with a smile, and hmms. "So, can I ask you guys something?" She says to A'di, and A'tien. "What do you see as the advantages to having your lifemates?" She asks them honestly, and then looks embarrassed for a moment. "A few of us kind of wondered yesterday after that bronze came in injured."

Pralius grins at Wyn and nods, "Healers and dragonhealers tend to not have that problem. Too much practice." He gives first A'di, then A'tien a grin, "I'll have to remember that, though, if I ever have a student with that problem." He stares at Dal for a moment, grinning, then asks quietly, "How's he liking beign made of snow?"

A'di turns his attention towards the Weyrlingmaster, his curiosity growing as he watches the bronzerider squirm. Ahaha! Now who looks like a improper rider! "I never had problems flying. Everyone in my family are dragonriders, you kinda had to deal with it. Plus I got totted around alot between my family." Shoulders shrug a little, "Makes sense though, but I'm not really a healer." Dalasith gets a curious look from his rider, "He thinks the snow feels nice against his hide, he's rather enjoying all the attention from the little ones." And then he frowns, "He wants to take one home." There's a quiet groan, "No, you can't take one home, Dal, their parents would /kill/ me."

"I…er…" Cough. The bronzerider chews on his lower lip as his eyes flicker to the snow, as if the answers would be there. "It helped me get over it, and it's rather enjoyable…" A'tien shimmies quietly in his spot, his dyed hands wringing through his leathers. "Besides, it's nice to do something other than practice my craft." And then A'di gets a curious look, "You know, if you really want to ditch that jacket, I can make some /decent/ riding leathers for you that won't be…so hidious."

Wyndrei glances to the snowy blue then inhales and clears her throat, "He..might need extra oiling after all the cold and wet.." she says quietly toward A'di. She grins however about the dragon wanting kidlets to take home and she has to laugh softly, a sweet laugh, "You know.. if he really likes the children the nannies might welcome a little playtime..maybe lessons about him.." she says, pondering. She quiets as she thinks on that, a plan perhaps forming, "I could…hmmm.." and she shakes her head thinkthink.

There's a quiet slinking of shadows as a rather peculiar rider can be seen making his way through the center bowl. And with all the snow around, it's rather hard /not/ to notice the rider dressed in all black. Blue eyes regard the people in the bowl, his lips curling slightly into a smirk. Ke'mi slowly makes his way over, mischief lighting in the bronzerider's eyes. "Boo." He says lightly coming up behind the group. "Now, why didn't anyone tell /me/ that there was a party going on? I could have brought some alcohol."

As if the barely controlled chaos around the living snow dragon wasn't enough, a merry little song wafts through the air, the source initially unseen. Within a few minutes, Lyana, a young woman in homely looking garb, saunters into the Bowl. She looks tired, but this does not dampen her song. No, it takes the sight of the dragons to do that. She stops in her tracks, just taking in the improbable sight of one dragon being buried in snow, and a big bronze not putting up much of a fight about the whole situation.

Pralius grins some, "No, Dal, no young'n's. Poor A'di might die of a heart attack and then where would you be?" He nods to A'tien, "Anything to help a new rider is great knowledge." He glances at A'di, then chuckles, "You can't make him new leathers, he's getting me a matching jacket…" Wyn's ideas of how to get Dal /more/ time with the kids warrant a gentle squeeze-hug, then there's a bronzer in the shadows! Ke'mi's voice makes Pralius jump. It takes a few breaths before he's calm again, then he murmurs, "No booze for the kidlets." Then there's a singer too. The poor boy is surrounded. Deciding to go with polite, he inclines his head to both, "Well met, I'm Pralius. Healer."

Moydeo blinks at Dal a moment. "No, don't take onee of these guys home, I could get in trouble." She chuckles at the blue, and then jumps a bit at Ke'mi's 'boo', and she turns toward him, and waves. "Ah, hello, I wasn't aware of any party, I was just out here on anny duty." She says to the bronzerider. "And everybody just kind of congregated." She adds, not that she's not appreciative. She looks at Wyn. "That could be a good idea too, though, I don't know if these guys have the patience to help oil a dragons." She admits, and eyes the kids, who toss snow balls up to Dal's back, since they can't get up that high, which Moy is quite honestly glad for.

A'di's eyes focus on the blue dragon being slowly turned into a white dragon by the kidlets and chuckles quietly, "I'll make sure to take care of him, don't worry, Wyn." The blue rider smiles ever so slightly. The sudden 'boo!' causes the bluerider to jump, his head snaping towards the darkly-dressed bronzrider. This one's an odd one. ""err…Hi? I don't think there's a party?" Pral gets a mouthed 'thank you' from the bluerider. "See? No kids. I don't want any." Not even if they're /his/ kids. A'tien gets a hopeful look, "You'll make me some? I'll pay you of course…sir." Now the bluerider's polite to the Weyrlingmaster, of course. "I don't know if Dal will sit still long enough to be involved in lessons concerning him. You could try, Wyn?" Dalasith warbles at all the people, new friends! «But it would be ever so much fun, we'd sing, and dance, and play games, and have fun in the snow! And I could get covered in snow again!»

A'tien smiles slightly, "I'll probably be taking the weyrlings sledding once, if only to stimulate how it feels riding on a dragon. I think they'd find it fun, regardless." The bronzerider turns slightly to frown at the new rider coming into the bowl. "There's no party, and there are candidates here. I hope you don't encourage them to drink. There are rules." A'tien says, slowly shaking his head at the bronzer. His head dips towards A'di, "Yes, I'll make you some, so long as you ditch those." A finger points at the yellow purple-polka dotted jacket. His attention quickly turns to Pral, "Don't get me started with you. I don't want to see those /things/ all over the weyr." Poor Artie. He'll go blind after staring at the jackets.

Damp rump notwithstanding, Wyn looks comfy standing near Pral, listening to everyone talk, her dark eyes scanning now and again for the little n'er-do-wells who landed snowballs on said rump. She smiles as another approaches the group, Kemi, and her hand lifts to wave, and even though she's looking right at him the 'boo' makes her start and giggle some. The harper gets her attention next and she smiles at her too, the wave extending to the girl. "And I'm Wyn, dragonhealer." She looks to Moydeo, "Well no.. they might not but.. I meant some other time for lessons, not now..though.." and she hrms, "They might find it fun to oil him.." and she grins.

Ke'mi's eyes roam around the crowd, a little grin pulling at his lips as he eyes the…rather interesting ensamble on the bluerider. He slowly stalks around the crowd, lightly leaning up against the blurider. He slowly bows down until his lips are just inches from the bluerider's ear. "You know…with all that…color, it rather suits you." The bronzerider's eyes flash ever so slightly at the bluerider, chuckling as he pulls away. A hand reaches out to ruffle the short rider's hair. "Nice suit, kid." And then the harper's attention turns lazily towards the Weyrlingmaster, letting out a rather loud yawn. "Oh shush. It's nice to kick back, drink some alcohol and relax every once in a while. Shards, when I was a candidate we snuck out all the time to have some. It didn't do anthing." And then his attention turns towards the crowd, "Well, as far as I'm concerned, a gathering like this is a party, and a party means drinking."

Lyana gulps, tearing her eyes away from the dragons and looking to Wyndrei and Pralius. "I'm Lyana. Not really anything, yet." What had she walked into? A party? "Just passing through, don't even know if they'll accept me at the Hall."

Pralius grins, inclining his head ever so slightly to A'di, then sighs, "The snow won't last much longer, I don't think. It's getting warmer every day." Ke'mi's antics earn a quirked eyebrow and little else, "Drunk candidates cannot stand. I'd like my friends to have their chance, /sir/, but I won't lie for them to get it. It's dangerous. And A'di's not a 'kid', he's a grown man who's quite allowed to have his own choice in clothing." Or his dragon's, but not going to mention that now. Giving Wyn a squeeze, he turns on A'tien next, "Weyrlingmaster, sir, I'm not one of your Weyrlings, nor a candidate. Nor do I ride a dragon or expect to. Therefore you have little to no authority over my choice in clothing should I choose chartreuse polkadots on a pink field. I have respect for you, but only my master and Lady Kessa can tell me what to wear." Lyana gets a nod and a smile, "Well met, Lyana. And with your voice I think you'll do fine."

Moydeo would be polite to somebody too if they offered to make her nice clothes. She grins at Dalasith. "Aww, you'll still see them." She says to the white blue dragon. She then blinks at Ke'mi about sneaking alcohol. "I think I'm fine with non alcoholic drinks." She says after a moment, and turns where the music was coming from, and waves to Lyana. "Hello!" She calls over to the girl. "Ah, well met Lyana, I aam Moydeo, candidate, and apprentice beastcrafter." She says, and smiles, and then blinks at Pralius a moment as she listens.

Twitch. The bluerider's eyes widen ever so slightly, making him jump in his spot to whirl around on the bronzrider, "What the…? What's the deal?" The bluerider's face reddens ever so slightly, a hand batting away at Ke'mi's hand when his hair is ruffled. "Just 'cause I'm short, doesn't mean I'm a kid." A hand quickly smooths out his hair, grumping quietly as he wraps his arms around his chest. His eyes flicker over to the new person, nodding a greeting. "A'di, Dalasith." A finger jabs at himself then points to the snow-dragon. Don't mind him, he's in a grumpy mood. Dalasith rumbles quietly at Moydeo, his muzzle ducking to watch the children go about making him into a snow dragon. «Aren't they absolutely /wonderful/?»

A'tien isn't happy, nope. His attention slowly turns towards the bronzerider, "Which makes me wonder how you ended up graduating, or were even allowed on the sands." He rolls his eyes ever so slightly, "And don't speak to me that way. I don't care much for formalities, but you crossed the line." His eyes soften slightly as his attention turns towards Pralius, "I didn't mean it like that, you're free to wear what you want, of course. It's your choice. I just…think it's not a good color combination…there are better things to wear."

Wyn's head slowly turns as Pralius begins, his tone noted she keens a look up at him in at least a little bit of surprise, silent as he dances through his tirade. She ahems and wrinkles her nose at his example of colors and pattern, murmuring, "Do I?" she asks of authority over his clothes, and it's obviously playful in nature but much truth is said in jest, please, gods, no dots..on pink..whimper. Her eyes flick to Ke'mi and she frowns a little bit, "Oh lets not encourage rule breaking right here in front of rule /makers/…" and she smiles, again, jesting the truth. She shifts around in the thickness of tension that weaves through the little gathering then rocks on her heels.

Ke'mi just sits back to watch the drama fly, a little grin pulling at his lips as he watches the riders. "That worked out pretty well." The bronzrider murmurs half to himself. His shoulders lift indifferently towards the crowd, "Well, well, I was never one for rules." He winks playfully to the bronzerider. "Oh, I gradated with /flying/ colors, dear Weyrlingmaster. And I quite assure you, I stood just fine." A hand waves indifferently in the air. His eyes flicker between Pralius and the Weyrlingmaster. "Indeed, exactly what this fine young lad says, you can't make him do anything. Just like you can keep your dear opinions to yourself about my habits." The bronzerider slowly makes his way around the crowd, looking much like a feline circling its prey. Who next to cause chaos with?

Lyana stifles a laugh at the horrendous combination of colors that make up A'di's clothing. "Interesting." She waves to Moydeo, sidling over to someone a little closer to her own age. "Nice to meet you. Wow… I'd always heard Weyrs were a little less uptight, but I never thought it would be like this!" She gives Pralius a thumbs up. "Thanks for the vote of confidence. I just hope the Hall thinks so."

Pralius' face softens and he nods to A'tien, "Color is in the eye of the beholder, but yeah. Those aren't my colors of choice." Wyn gets another squeeze, "By Faranth, woman, you picked out the clothes I'm wearing now! What do you think?" He chuckles, his tension melted for the moment, at least, then Dalasith puts in his two marks and Pralius chuckles happily, "You can't keep them, Dal. You can only visit. Their parents love them too." He nods to Lyana, "I have some friends at the harper hall if you'd like me to send a missive." Ke'mi gets a glare. Yes. A glare. Pralius gets on with most people just fine, but Ke'mi, if not nearly so irritating as Odisyn could be, was pushing his buttons quite well, "If I were to be searched I would do as he bid. And I think it's only fair that you respect the wishes of others and not try to force them to your perspective. Drinking isn't good for candidates. They can't if they impress."

Moydeo nodnods to Dalasith. "They are, even if they can be a bit troublesome." She remarks idly, turning to watch the rest of the kids as well, though at the moment, a group of them are working on a snow person, as much of their energy has been worn down by the snow ball fight, some have been called away by nannies, or their parents, while the rest work on burying Dalasith, not that the dragon minds any. "Just, let me know if they're bothering you Dalasith." She says, and nods to Pralius. "A I said, I have no issue with the no drinking thing, even though I indulged once in a while before I was searched."

A'di quickly ducks his head as he nudges the snow with his foot, "You're not supposed to drink anyway." A'di mumbles half to himself. His eyes flicker towards Moydeo, "He doesn't mind, like I said, he rather enjoys the attention. So long as they leave his wings alone…" He trails off, pursing his lips. "You never answered my questioon, why the hell did you do that anyway! Do you have a problem or something?" The bronzerider gets eyed in annoyance. A'tien at least had been trying to do his job, this man…he's something entirely different.

One. Two. Three. Breathe in. Breathe out. If it wasn't for a sudden bronze dragon quietly making his way out into the bowl to see what was distressing his rider, A'tien might not be quite so calm. "You will not encourage these candidates to drink. And I will appreciate it if you take yourself somewhere else where you're not influencing my potential charges." Cereth's eyes whirl quickly as he considers his rider, "Right. Calm." At least Pralius gets a sympathetic look, "Thank you, I appreciate that, but it's not my rules. It's the weyrs rules, and people should follow them."

Wyndrei chortles at Pralius and nods her head, "Ok good then, no chartruese and pink or dots..or..well.. just.." and she bites her lip. She'll just have to watch the closet closely..laundresses lose things you know. A lot. Especially if they get marks to lose things. Hah! She looks from rider to rider as rules and such are discussed, content not to be involved so much in /that/ conversation but then she comments toward Moydeo, "I don't drink.. mostly because I never know when I might be needed..it's just not worth the risk to be in such a way that I couldn't help if I was called up on.."

"Rules, schmules. As far as I'm concerned they're just guidelines." Indeed, this has turned out to be quite fun, watching people writhe with just a few choice words. Ke'mi should really get out more often, people are too easy to play his game. Pralius gets a little wink, "Well then, little lamb, go ahead and follow the shepard and watch him lead you off the cliff." Smirk. A'di gets a saucy wink from the bronzrider who bows down again, it's rather cute, watching this short bluerider trying to act all tough. "Oh, I don't know. I felt like it at the time."

"Oh, could you, Pralius? That would be wonderful, thank you!" Lyana claps her hands together for joy, grinning wide. As for the exchange between the trouble-making bronzer, Pralius, and Weyrlingmaster, well… she stays clear of that one. Though Ke'mi gets an appraising glance from her—hey, who could resist looking? Well, so much for staying out of trouble!

Pralius nods to A'tien, "Drinking is against the rules for candidates and weyrlings at most Weyrs and for good reason. Drunkeness scares hatchlings. We lost one at Telgar when I was still young because his Weyrling drank himself into a stupor." He shudders some, "I hope never to hear that sound again." Cereth's appearance worries Pralius momentarily, then he realizes Cereth's with A'tien and inclines his head to the bronze as well. Wyn gets another squeeze, "No chartreuse or polka dots… except for what ever A'di gets me. That we have to keep. I can't bear to pull out on a bet. Especially not with someone I /respect/." He emphasizes that description of A'di, glaring at Ke'mi as he does so. Ke'mi's attempt to flirt and be attractive gets nothing more than a continued glare, "You're not that attractive, sir. Certainly not emotionally." He turns again, nodding to Lyana, "I'll send them in the morning. Have you applied yet or just considering? It's only a few days to the hall and the craftsecond is a regular visitor here."

Moydeo is a candidate, there is no way on pern she's going to argue rules she agrees with, she likes being a candidate. Rather she'll keep an eye on her charges, and the dragon, and listen to the others. "My aunt, Moyrel, the Masterharper was here a few days ago as well, for the games, I haven't seen her in days, but shee said she might stick around till the eggs hatch, so you can ask the crafters as well if she's still here."

Ke'mi's job is done, there's enough chaos going around for one day. "Sure, sure. Have fun, remember to drink, be merry, and break a couple of rules!" There's a little finger wiggle, and just as soon as the bronzerider had come, he's slinking away from the crowd, grinning widely to himself. "I think that went rather well." He chuckles quietly to himself, "Haven't lost my touch yet." And then the bronzerider is off.

A'di slumps quietly to the ground, a finger prodding at the ground, "What a strange guy." A'di mumbles quietly to himself, shaking his head slowly as he eyes the direction the bronzerider had headed off in. His lips purse tightly in thought and he slowly shakes his head. "Odd." His eyes flicker up to Pral, grinning, "I'll get you one like mine, you'll have to wear it." Sagenod.

Lyana shrugs, wrapping her arms around herself. "I haven't formally applied yet. Thought I might stand a better chance in person. Besides, wherever I do wind up, maybe I can make a good life, and make things easier for my family back home." Moydeo is the recipient of a startled look, Lyana's jaw dropping open. "You're joking, right? The Masterharper's here?" Letting out a low whistle, she shakes her head. "Wow. Talk about good timing. But wouldn't it be out of line to just up and talk to her like that?"

A'tien glares in the direction of the other rider, his lips pursing tightly together in thought. Finally, A'tien shakes his head, "Excuse me, all of you. I have things to attend to. I hope you all enjoy your day." He offers a quiet nod as he turns his feet towards the bronze dragon, striding purposefully towards Cereth. A hand reaches up to caresss the bronze muzzle before heading off, "Let's go do something to take my mind off things before I do something rash." A'tien mumbles under his breath. Cereth quietly croons to his rider as they head off.

Wyndrei pauses to look Ke'mi over a bit, giving him a sort of sympathetic smile, usually people who work so hard at causing trouble are in dire need of attention. A brow quirks and she looks to Pralius silence reigning for the moment as she takes in all the /sirs/ and polite impoliteness, mouth twitching against a smirk. "Ok well.. right.. a bet.." she says, cringing somewhat at the thought of some horrible outfit Pral may wear, just to save face. She looks to Lyana and smiles, "Yes we've seen the 'second here on more than one occasion," she says to the girl. She waves to the departing bronzers..hmm…interesting..

Pralius grins at A'di, giving Wyn a shoulder-squeeze before leaving her side to hold a hand out to A'di, "Don't let your rump get wet, too, A'di. He's not worth it." He nods, then, to Lyana, "Has been since the winter games." He waves a farewell to A'tien with the hand /not/ offered to A'di, "Fare well, A'tien."

Moydeo shrugs at Lyana. "That's why I suggested you could talk to the harpers that are posted here." She says. "And yes, she was, not sure she still is, you might have to check with the crafters, as I also said." She chuckles. Moyrel might be her aunt, but that doesn't mean she has to know where the woman is all the time, right?

A'di just shakes his head as he runs a hand through his hair in another attempt to straighten out his hair. He sighs quietly, "He's just…odd…" A'di shakes his head, "I don't understand." And as A'tien leaves the bluerider frowns a little, "I can deal with a wet butt, I'll just dry off later, or something." The bluerider peers at the snow, his lips pursing deep in thought. "What was that all about anyway?" Poor A'di. He's confused.

Lyana just nods, taking a step back. "Thanks, both of you." She looks at A'di sympathetically. "No idea, sir. I'm trying to keep everything straight in my own head." Her breath congeals to puffy little clouds in front of her face as she goes silent to consider everything. "Well, I guess I'd better see if there are any odd jobs I can do to earn a bunk for the night. Who should I talk to?"

Wyndrei watches Pralius and A'di then looks back to Lyana and smiles, "Well I'm not sure.. I got sent here.. so.." and she wrinkles her nose. "Who's the…" and she taps her chin, thinking, glancing around at the group. "I haven't been here that long and went right to work in the Dragon Infirmary.." she comments. She looks to the blue and grins then shakes her head, "Longsuffering sort of fellow.." she says in an admiring manner.

Pralius hunkers down next to A'di, "The non-A'tien bronzer?" he never /did/ give his name, "I'm sure it was all about being a prick. A'tien? Probably just checking on Moydeo. He's a good weyrlingmaster, if a tad strict." He glances over at Dalasith, then grins at A'di, "And what do they matter, anyhow?"

Moydeo nods to Wyn, and then looks to Lyana. "Maybe talk to Talica, about a room for the night, and a temporary service, she's the Headwoman here." She explains. "I'm sure they can allways use extra help, though there are candidates now to help as well."

A'di just shakes his head and turns towards Leona, "You said you were Leona, right? I think you could speak to the headmistress if you wanted to stay the night?" A hand rubs at the back of his head, his attention slowly turning back towards the ground, frowning. "I think he's just trying to do his job right." On the subject of A'tien, "Least he looks after the candidates." A'di mumbles under his breath, sighing quietly. "Maybe you're right, he was just probably being a asshole."

Lyana nods, taking in the advice from both A'di and Moydeo. "Any idea where to find her at this hour?" She can't help cracking a smile at the now almost entirely snow-covered dragon. "I can't believe he's actually enjoying that."

Pralius grins at Lyana, "Probably in the kitchens. And, yes… Dal is Dal." His attention turns back to A'di then, "Her name's Lyana, A'di." He nods, then, as to the subjects of A'tien and Ke'mi, "They are. But don't let them get you down, A'di. You're smart and powerful in your own right despite being short."

"I'll bet you won't need temporary work long.." Wyn says with a smile to the Harper hopeful. "In no time you'll be at the hall.." she nods confidently. She looks to A'di curiously then when Pralius corrects the name she smiles at him, "Well Lyana and Leona.. close.." she nods. "I'd say that he'd turn blue from the cold but.." well he is a blue so..she giggles to herself.

Moydeo hmms. "Try the lower caverns, or the living caverns, she's often in one of those." She says, and sees some of her charges get shuffled off by other nannies as they get tired. She tucks her hands in her pockets as she looks at A'di and Pralius. "Yes, A'tien is a nice Weyrlingmaster." She agrees with the healer, and then looks at Dalasith, and chuckles. "If it bothered him, I'm sure he'd say something." She says. "But according to A'di, he's loving it." She nods about A'di. "Yes! It's not size that matters, it's what's inside you."

A'di snorts quietly, "Why does everything always end up coming back to the fact that I'm short? It's not like I like being short." A'di shakes his head, "Not that powerful." His eyes flicker towards the blue, "what about Dal? Least he's not completely a snow dragon yet." His lips purse, "A'tien I can deal with…the other one, not so much." A'di can't help but chuckle quietly at Wyn, "Well, he's already blue, unless he turns even more blue?" He snickers quietly. "Dalasith's enjoying it." «It's fun, and wonderful! Just look at all the snow piled against me, they're doing it ever so expertly!» Indeed, the dragon is having a good time. "I'm not sure I'd say he's nice, but he does his job. Maybe he just needs to loosen up a bit."

Lyana blinks, looking curiously at the snowy blue and thumping the side of her head with the heel of her hand. "Naaah." She shakes her head vigorously for a minute as if to send droplets of water spraying about after a good, long bath. "Well, guess the Living Caverns would be a good place to start. Don't know how I can thank you all enough."

Pralius grins at A'di, "Because it's your only shortcoming." whoops. unintentional pun. "But if you don't want to be though of as short, you shouldn't sit when everyone else is standing. It just makes it worse. Dalasith's mindvoice makes him grin, "Maybe we should help the kids snow-ify him."

Moydeo blinks at Lyana, and waves a hand. "It was nothing." She says. "Was just helping you, since you're obviously new here." She says, and grins at Pralius. "I like that idea! I think he's a bit big for the kids to cover with snow all by themselves." Not that they haven't done a vallioant effort of it this far. She crouches down, and scoops some snow into her gloved hands.

A'di's eyes turn towards Lyana, noticing the head tapping. "Yeah, sorry, that's Dalasith speaking if you can hear him. He likes to talk a little too much for his own good, I'll have him stop if it bothers you." He mumbles, letting his eyes flicker to the ground. The bluerider finally moves to stand to his feet, letting his eyes turn upwards to the way-too-tall Pral. "You're still taller than me, so it's not that much of a difference if I'm sitting or standing." His eyes flicker back to Lyana, "It's not a problem, Lyana. We're happy to help." See? He got her name right that time.

Lyana's eyes widen, and she covers her mouth. "So I wasn't hearing things? And you're actually going to…" A nervous laugh escapes her at the sheer audacity of the idea. She smiles at A'di. "It's alright, I don't mind. I was just kind of surprised. I've never been this close to a dragon, and then to hear one? He really sounds like a sweet one."

Pralius grins at A'di, "I can't help it. Want me to crouch? It'll ruin my back, but I could keep it up for a few turns first." He ndos to Lyana, "Dalasith is one of a kind." He leans down grabbing a handful of snow and moving towards Dalasith to add it to the piles.

Wyndrei snaps from her own reverie and grins, reaching for Pralius' hand but misses as he wanders off to play with the dragon. She shakes her head and smiles, "That blue is a different sort..but a /good/ different.. never met one like him really.." she says thoughtfully, and that's saying a lot for a dragonhealer.

A'di shakes his head, "No, you weren't hearing things. I sometimes wonder if he thinks he's human." A'di chuckles quietly, his eyes flickering towards the dragon slowly being covered by the kidletts. "Yes. You need to loose a couple of feet, maybe you need to take yourself into surgery to take some of your tallness out." He's joking, obviously. Dalasith croons quietly as he turns his neck to watch Pral move about him, his eyes whirling quickly. "Just be careful around him, Pral." A'di cautions quietly. "You can play with him, too, if you want to Lyana, I don't mind, and he loves making new friends." «It's always nice to make new friends!» Dalasith quickly agrees.

Moydeo grins. "Becareful Lyana, Dalasith here might start giving you fashion advice." She giggles, teasing the dragon, as she moves to help add snow to what the 'brats have already done. "Yes, you can come closer, Dalasith won't hurt you, I mean look at him with the kids, I don't tjhink many dragons would let a bunch of kids bury them in snow." She giggles.

Wyndrei looks over to the dragon and takes a few steps closer to him, content to let the others play in the snow she stands before him much like she did the injured bronze the other night. She smiles and watches him, reaching to touch his neck or jaw, whatever remains close enough, though the hand moves slowly, askance, palm up. "Hello, handsome," she says to him then grins back at A'di before looking to the others, "..you're quite a darling, you know."

Lyana takes a cautious step forward, approaching Dalasith very slowly. "Hi." Just what do you say to a dragon, anyways? She crouches down in the snow with the rest, scooping up a great double handful of the white, fluffy stuff. "You're right, it's good to make new friends. I hope I meet lots of new friends here." Moydeo gets a chuckle, the tense moment defused by the humorous advice. "You don't mean that he told his rider to wear… well, it IS colorful."

Pralius nods to A'di, "I'll be careful. Wouldn't want to hurt the great Dalasith." He pats some snow into place along Dalasith's neckridges, making them look somewhat like the ridges on his snow-wher. He grins at Wyn, "He is, isnt' he?" Lyana gets a chuckle and some snow in place, "Say hi. He's Dalasith, not Choth."

Dalasith warbles towards the people around him, indeed, the dragon is rather enjoying all these people giving him attention. «Oh! What a absolutely delightful thing to say! You really are too kind.» Dalasith warbles happily to Lyana, his eyes whirling faster, «Hello to you, it's ever so nice to meet someone new! Are you going to cover me up in snow? It'll be ever so nice when it's finished. Isn't it delightful? The little ones are doing such a wonderful job.» Dalasith's muzzle dips slightly to allow the dragonhealer to pet him. This is Dalasith's heaven right here. A'di just shakes his head slowly, shaking his head as he watches all the people about the blue draogn. «I'm sure you'll meet lots of friends here, everyone's ever so nice!» Dalasith happily tells Lyana. And then the dragon's eyes turn towards his rider in a loving way, «Doesn't he look stunning? The colors mesh quite well, if you ask me.» A'di just groans quietly, "B'ky took me shopping for clothes, he picked that up and Dalasith thought it'd look good on me." And the dragon can be quite persuasive when he wants to be.

Wyndrei looks up at the blue and her smile widens, "I'm Wyn if you didn't hear earlier.." and she giggles more, mostly at herself, shaking her head. "You and I should do some lessons for the little ones together.. teach them about you and your kin.." she says with a firm nod. "You think you could do that?" she asks him.

Lyana grins at the torrent of words pouring into her mind—and likely everyone else's as well. "Blue and white. Can't think of a better combination, just like a Harper." She adds her load of snow to the lot already covering Dalasith's forepaws, still cautious enough to use a gentle touch in sculpting the snow. "Well, the yellow just makes the purple look that much brighter. You'll never have to worry about losing your rider in the snow." This last offered with an apologetic smile to A'di. "Maybe one day I'll be at the Hall, and I could write a song about the great blue Snow Dragon, and his well-dresed rider."

Pralius pats some more snow into place along Dalasith's ridges, "He does look stunning, Dal. You ever consider letting him pick his own clothes some time, though? He doesn't seem to like it much." He grins at Wyn and nods, "You'd be a great teacher, Wyn." He grins as Lyana lauds A'di and Dalasith, nodding some as more snow goes into place, but saying nothing.

Moydeo nods to Lyana. "I'm serious, he's the reason A'di's wearing what he's wearing." She giggles. "Yes, come Lyana, he won't hurt you, trust us." She says, which is probably alot to ask, since the girl barely knows them. She laughs as she listens to the blue. "He told me I'd look good in brown, and blue, next time I go clothes shopping, I plan to take his advice." She scoops up some more to add to the pile. Theeb kids laugh and giggle as they keep adding snow as well. "Personally, I think Dalasitth looks great covered in snow." She grins at Wyndrei. "That sounds like a great idea!" She says to the Dragonhealer.

Dalasith considers the person before him, «Wyn?» He asks, a hint of horschata in his voice, «What a wonderful name, it suits you. I'll try to remember it. Or have A'di remind me.» Dalasith happily warbles towards the female before him. «Could I take a couple with me, they're ever so much fun to play with! They could come play with A'di and I.» Dalasith croons happily and tilts his head slightly to watch Lyana at his forepaws, careful not to move too much to disturb the snow being placed on him. «I think it looks absolutely delightful! My A'di is a harper, but he refuses to sing. Avideth's got him to dance, he's a absolutely wonderful dancer. I keep telling him he should sing as well, so we can sing and dance while we go about our chores in the morning!» The dragon pauses to turn his head slightly to watch the Pralius apply snow to his ridges. «A'di would look stunning no matter what he put on.» And then the dragon quickly turns his attention to the harper, «You will make a song about us? How absolutely wonderful! I'm sure it will be the best song /ever/!» A'di just sighs quietly, "Don't encourage him, Lyana." He's rather used to being on the sidlelines while his dragon gets all the attention.

Lyana says "Well, I've got to have something to present to the Hall, don't I, Dalasith? Maybe I can work on it while I'm here." Oh no. Poor A'di is going to have his hands full of a preening Dalasith now! She smiles at A'di, and shrugs. "Well, it's not every day you get to sculpt a living snow dragon. If that's not worthy of a little song, I don't know what is."

Wyndrei beams at the blue and then rubs his cheek a bit and nods, "Thank you, kind sir.. and no, not for keeps though we might find a way for you to have fun with wee ones now and again.." she offers in place. "In fact.. I think I'll go get to work on that idea now.." she says with a nod. "Don't stay cold for too long, ok?" she says then pulls back and walks toward Pralius to hug him, "See you later.." then she lifts a hand to wave, "Ya'll have fun, I have some work to do.." and she turns to go.

Pralius returns Wyn's hug heartily enough, watching her go before turning back to Dalasith, "So, you wouldn't mind if he wore, say, Fort's colors, then? Brown and black can be quite a pleasant combination with some red accents." He grins, turning to nod to A'di, see. I'm helping. He grins at Lyana, "Be careful or you'll stroke his ego into the stratosphere."

Moydeo waves to Wyndrei. "Bye Wyn! Seee you around!" She says, and grins at Lyana. "You should see some of the dragons people sculpted for the contest, one of them came in second place." She says, to a woman getting out of a bathtub, the judges must of been proddy or something. "Oh, A'di's a harper? I never knew that, how come you don't sing A'di?" She asks. "Did you make instruments or something in the craft instead?"

Dalasith has a ego? Really, the dragon can be quite naive on a lot of things. «I'm sure it would absolutely be wonderful, I hope you'll come play it for us when you finish it. I would love to hear it when you're done.» A'di just sighs quietly, a hand running through his green hair to stare at the snow. Yup, nothing he can do about it, really. «I would be happy to see him in anything, but I think that coat is absolutely stunning. Just look at how the colors mesh together. It's /beautiful/. It's almost as wonderful as this boot I found the other day, the way it looked so frayed and holey, I told A'di we had to bring it home with us.» A'di groans, "Don't remind me about that boot." Knowing A'di, he's probably already chucked it out. Wyn's exit has cause for A'di to worry, "Don't get any thoughts about bringing them home, Dal. We have enough of your 'pets'. I don't know how you talked me bringing rodents in for you to keep." Grumble. A'di arches a brow, "I'm not that kind of harper? I think it's stupid, singing, and dancing. I don't sing, and I don't really dance, either." A glare to the dragon. "I was a archivist, I looked after records."

Lyana looks at A'di, more than a little surprised. "Well, I guess we've all got our strengths." She smiles and finishes sculpting the snow around Dalasith's forepaws. Or, at least as best she can, without being able to see them without the snow first. "Wish I'd been here for that. What were the Games like?" She scoops up another large load of snow, edging a little bit closer to add it to the mess piled up around his shoulders. "It'll probably just be a little song. But when it's done, even if I don't make it to the Hall, I'll sing it." Pralius gets a little chuckle. "Ego? Doesn't seem to have half as much of an ego as people can."

Pralius nods, piling more snow on Dal's back, "You might let him wear other things from time to time, though, Dal. It'll start to stink and wear out. And then he wouldn't have it anymore." He chuckles some, "Boot, huh? I suppose that's better than him bringing home unwanted children." This, of course, is aimed at A'di, then he chuckles, "rodents? Wow, you must love him." He grins, blushing just a tad, "And a brilliant archivist you are, A'di." He grins some, "He'll be asking after that song until he forgets about it. And the games were great, even if Ista won."

Moydeo grins at Lyana. "They were great! Except Ista beat us." She chuckles. "So the Weyrs are tied, one each." She says. "So, they'll have a tie breaker at some point, or so I've heard." She says, and blinks at A'di, raising an eyebrow. "Rodents? What kind of rodents?" She asks, as she keeps scooping snow onto the dragon, though his breathing probably loosens some of it anyway. "Oh, an archivist, well, an archivist is important too, keeping all the records safe, and such things."

«There are lots of clothes and each are absolutely fantastic. I wish I could make something for him to wear, I bet he would look stunning in it!» Dalasith croons loudly as he rests his neck against the snow to allow the people to cover his neck and head with snow. "Yes. Boot. One of Dal's new treasures." «It was beautiful, I couldn't simply let it sit there. Everyone else should deserve to see how beautiful it is.» Dal's eyes whirl quickly at the mention of his 'pets' «They're aboslutely lovely creatures! I love watching their little whiskers twitch. And it's always nice to make new friends.» A'di just offers Pral a long look, "Don't ask. Really. You don't want to know." A'di says in a dead pan, shaking his head slowly. "Sometimes I wonder about him, I really do." He stuffs his hands into his pants, scruffing his boots against the ground. "I'm just a archivist, not really that special, really." A'di mumbles a little under his breath. "The games were fun, they actually trusted Dalasith enough to let him /flame/!" A'di is still amazed that nothing happened as a consequence. "We lost though. And they made fun of the jacket." A hand plucks at the jacket with a frown. "Said I ran out of fabric or something." To Moy, "All sorts. He loves them, I don't see the facination. I love history and going through old books. I find it facinating." «He needs to dance and sing more!»

Lyana hums a brisk snatch of melody, drumming her be-mittened fingers in the snow. "Blue and white / Purple and yellow / What a sight / Colorful fellows!" This gets her to grin wide, and she taps out a counter-rhythm in the snow, executing a little dance step in place as she molds the snow on top of Dalasith. "Dragon and rider / Caught in the snow / Piled higher and higher / By kidlets, you know!" She seems more at ease now, though perhaps out of inspiration for the moment. "I'll have to remember that, somehow."

Pralius nods, "I think I heard a month or so off, for the tie breaker for this year." He chuckles some, then nods to A'di, "I think I'll have to get Dal a present… not sure what, yet… maybe matching scarves…" He chuckles some, then, "Dal flamed beautifully. Much better than those browns." He pats one last handful of snow onto Dalasith, though the snowdragon is nowhere near contained, and turns, striding back towards A'di with long steps. He stops a few feet from A'di, arms akimbo, hands on hips, "You're not /just/ anything. You should be proud of what you are." He seems almost more like a lecturing mother than a male healer just now, then, inexplicably, he moves forward, making an attempt to give A'di a tight hug if the blue rider doesn't disappear or explode from shame.

Moydeo nodnods in agreement with Pralius. "He's right! You should be proud! Nobodys 'just' anything!" She says. "That would be like saying the ancients that founded Pern were just ancients!" She says, and leans on Dal a moment, to keep from tipping on the forelimb she's on. "Be proud." She grins, and looks at Lyana. "Oh, those sound like good lyrics, not that I'm an expert or anything."

A'di's brow twitches slightly when Lyana starts singing, letting out a quiet groan. "Great, look at what you did!" A'di quickly says to the blue, "Now I'm going to look like an idiot." A hand runs through his hair, quite embarassed really. "Can't you just sing about Dal or something?" Grumble. "I'm still surprised I didn't singe my hair. I was quite impressed he actually maintained his attention long enough to flame." «It was lots of fun, A'di! It was a very exciting game, I'm so impressed that the brown beat us, wasn't it utterly fantastic how they won at the last minute?» "Yeah, great. Woo-hoo." Sarcasim. Clearly rider and dragon are very different. "I'm just me. Dal's more interesting than me anyway." A hand waves at all the people around the dragon. "I'm just a archivist, that's fine with me. It's not really like I do a whole lot other than go through the archives." Though, he is the reason why Fort has sorberts and various other goodies now. And then Pralius is hugging him, flail! See, this is one thing that's good about being short, at least he could probably slip out of the other man's grip fairly easy. After all, hugging would require squatting, and losing your center of gravity…or something..

Lyana bobs her head back and forth, patting the snow down in time with her melody. "Blue dragon, snow dragon, what do you say? / Won't you come out to the Bowl and play? / With your rider, so strong and so sure…." Silence falls, and she looks a little bit lost for a minute. "Well, now how am I going to finish that line?" Shrugging, she just grins at Moydeo, and it's pretty clear it's not the cold turning her cheeks so red. "Thanks. They could be better. What do you expect when improvising? Something nice about A'di… but I don't know him well enough to think of something suitable yet."

Pralius grins down at the bluerider flailing in his grasp, releasing him calmly before he falls over, "I've been pouring over hatching records for the last sevenday and I'm just impressed that you can /read/ those things, let alone the knowledge you glean from them." He gives the man a gentle pat on the shoulder, "You're a perfectly fine human being, A'di. Stop being so down on yourself just because Dalasith's so much more outgoing." He glances back at Lyana, "Saving lives/going through archives." His voice isn't as on key as one might like, but it's smooth-ish, at least.

Moydeo grins, and nods to A'di. "You two were great against that brown, though I thought it was a little unfair to pit a blue against a brown." She admits, even though Dalasith is nearly the size of a brown. She giggles as she listens to the dragon. "As long as you had fun Dalasith." She grins, and applauds Lyana. "Lovve it! Can't wait to hear it finished!"

A'di shakes his head, "Yeah, but Dalasith's almost as big as a small brown. And they were similar to size, just browns have more endurance than blues." A'di's eyes flicker to the ground, finally looking at ease once he's released. His hands quickly move to straighten himself out, glaring up at the much taller healer. "I'm just me." A'di grumps and turns on his heel, "Speaking of archives. I should get back to work." Yes. He'll stick good to his strategy of fleeing, he's rather good at it. «I had lots of fun! I wish I could have played the game a bit longer!»

Lyana backs well away from Dalasith, and smiles shyly at A'di. "I should thank you both for inspiring a song. Especially if it turns out to be what gets me into the Hall." She pulls her hat down tighter around her ears, and stomps about in the snow to warm up some. "Saving lives? Archives? I'll have to find a way to make that rhyme with the line before that. But it tells me something about A'di. Thank you."

Moydeo nods to A'di. "Ok, good point." She grees, and jumps down as the rider seems about to leave, not wanting to get in Dalasith's say if he decides to go as well. The 'brats scurry off as well. "Aww, come on A'di, you don't have to go." She says to the blue rider. She grins at Lyana. "I hope you have good luck getting into the hall."

Pralius rolls his eyes at A'di, "You can't hide in the archives forever, A'di. Ashri and I are in the library almost as much as you are anymore." He nods to Dal, "It was fun. You should play more often with us." he grins at Moy and Lyana, "It's beautiful. Though you might polish it some before singing it for MasterHarper Moyrel." He raises an eyebrow at the prospective harper. Then another healer is emerging from the lower caverns calling Pralius name. Pral himself sighs, "/Great/ another case of flu… Hopefully I don't get it." A'di gets one last sneaky hug, then Pralius nods to the others and disappears towards the infirmary.
