Fort Weyr - Weyrleaders' Offices
Aged by time, this office has lived through the ages of Fort just as its counterparts have. But unlike the Weyrsecond and Junior Weyrwomen offices, this cavern is spacious and formed in a rough semicircle of three conjoined caves that were carved and modified Turns ago. The middle portion acts as a waiting room of sorts, holding only a few modest chairs and a simple tapestry to otherwise brighten up the plain stone walls. There are no windows here and the only light comes from well placed glow baskets.
To the right, the smaller of the two adjoining caverns has been set aside for the Weyrwoman, a large desk situated in the middle and a bookshelf pressed against the wall. A small hearth allows for some warmth in the colder months and another cabinet rests across the room to hold various supplies, as well as several books, reports and records. More tapestries have been hung there, lending some color to room.
On the left, the larger cavern belongs to the Weyrleader's office and the walls here are littered with a vast array of maps, as well as a tapestry hung behind where he would sit. The desk is large and the wood aged, looking old and a bit worn, but well tended too. Shelves and a bookshelf line one wall, crammed with rolled hides, other maps, books, reports and records and all arranged in an organized chaos. A small hearth has been built in here as well and various well placed glow baskets are hung to offer just the right amount of light in this windowless office.
Both offices have stout wooden doors that have been carefully worked into the stone. They can be closed and locked if privacy is needed but are often left open.

Winter is starting to settle into the Weyr now and a light covering of snow dusts the stone and ground outside. Within the offices it's warm, as drudges keep the fires going. Th'ero has been at his desk for most of the day and his mood is… touchy at best. His desk is littered with various scraps of paper and he works at a blank strip of hide where several words and sentences have been written, crossed out and rewritten many times. His brow is knit in a heavy frown and it's obvious that he's deeply concentrating on something.

Abigail had asked for a good time when she could drop by and speak wth Th'ero, though giving how busy the leaders get she took what time she could which would be around now actually. There is a slight knock to the door before it is opened when no one says 'not' to come in. "Sir?" Is questioned with a curious tone while Abbey peeks inside the office to make sure all is well before she comes in.

Th'ero barely glances up from his work when Abigail calls for his attention and instead lifts his hand and gestures vaguely to the chairs in front of his desk. "Come in, Abigail. Take a seat," he murmurs distractedly and while she settles herself, he'll continue to pour over his work and scribble a few more notes down in an awkward silence. At last, with a weary sigh, he sets his writing tool down and leans back in his chair. "What can I help you with?"

Abigail nods and wanders on to settle upon one of the offered seats, a slight smile seen. "Thank ye sir." As for the question, she takes in a soft breath. "Its… About Ha'ze." There is a slight pause as she says this letting it sink in for a moment perhaps. How does she explain this? "His not happy with working with Search and Rescue. In all honesty I don't think he wants to switch either but the reason I am coming to speak with you on this is to see if there is perhaps something else he could do for the Weyr?" Well he is the Weyrleader, he might know of some things.

Th'ero frowns and is about to ask what the bronzerider has done now but he wisely keeps his mouth shut and Abigail ends up providing all the answer he needs. "Is he truly that unhappy?" he mutters. "I would have thought Search and Rescue would be quite suitable for him. Isn't he doing enough for the Weyr as a Thunderbird Wingrider? Unless… are you considering putting him into Policing?" he inquires gently but seems confused. There's no reason for her to ask him for that, as it's her choice as Wingleader where to reshuffle her Wingriders. "Or… is it more than that?"

Abigail frowns slightly and nods. "Aye.. he is truly that unhappy." She can't recall the number of conversations that she has had with Ha'ze over the matter. "I don't think he would want to be in Policing honestly. With Search and Rescue he would have mo freedom then in Policing so I think that would make it worse." At the question she is quiet for a moment. "He feels he is not doing anything for the wing.. the weyr, he is looking for a purpose I suppose one way to explain it. So far he has not found it now… That Urstrr is gone." Even the talk of Ha'ze being a father didn't help the matter.

Th'ero sighs heavily and scrubs along the bottom of his jaw as Abigail explains further. "How would Policing not give him freedom? Policing involves considerable sweep riding… So is it being restricted that you believe is bothering him the most?" he asks, frowning in thought as his fingers tap idly against the surface of his desk as he mulls over the news and possible resolutions.

"I'm not sure if he would considered it less restricted or not in all honesty." Abigail said with a shake of her head. "He.. has mixed feelings over things." She doesn't want to go into detail fearing that Ha'ze will see it as her telling Th'ero everything. "My reasoning for coming to speak with ye is to try and figure out something that he might perhaps be able to do. Something that perhaps isn't in a normal Wing setting. Perhaps if there is something like that he would feel more involved with it, more like he could do something.." Then perhaps she is grasping at straws here. "Honestly Th'ero.. I just don't wish to see him so unhappy, so miserable at times and I don't know what else to do. This is something that I know is bothering him." Something she can attempt to help with if nothing else.

"Something like what Kimmila does?" Th'ero ventures to suggest or use as an example at least. The Weyrleader knows that Ha'ze might not agree to working with the cotholds, but perhaps he will? "I know it's hard for you to see him as he is, but understand that it's almost impossible for me just to… warp structure around on rider." he explains and then grimaces, "Yes, I did it for Kimmila but she was an exception. Ha'ze is… His situation is a little more difficult. Does he even know what he wishes to do for the Weyr?"

Abigail is quiet for a moment as she listens to what is said. "Perhaps.. To some degree. Though I don't think he'd wish to work with others.." There is a slight pause and she nods slightly. "I don't expect things to just happen, or ye to change things for him just.. trying to find some what to help the situation." Not like it's some mission to deal with a problem, wich she can handle rather well. She knows very well that Ha'ze is more difficult. "Well… Not yet, at least his not told me on it. He doesn't even know I came to speak with ye on this matter."

Th'ero's frown returns and he shakes his head after a few thoughtful moments of silence. "So he wants to work alone but still feel he's adding to the Weyr in some way?" he asks to confirm he has this straight. He chuckles dryly, "Shards, he never makes anything easy, does he?" It's not meant as a criticism, really, but the Weyrleader is tackling this as quite the puzzle (and possibly not something he needs on top of all the other situations). "Perhaps… it'd be better if I spoke with Ha'ze personally. Not sure if I am entirely comfortable making the decision without his input. You're a good Wingleader to sense unhappiness in your Wingriders," Personal ties aside. "So I'll try to think of something for him. Can't guarantee we'll find something but… we'll try."

Abigail frowns herself, a slight sigh escaping her. "No.. He never does things easy." There is a slight pause while she fingers herself picking at a nail. "Perhaps I'm just too close to the situation at hand.." By now everyone knows there is something between Ha'ze and herself. She glances to Th'ero a moment. "Perhaps.. But I would prefer this conversation not be brought up if possible." A slight shake of her head is seen to the rest. "It's different with Ha'ze, I'm closer to him.." Which honestly is a bit of trend with her.. what happened with So'l? No comment.. That bronzerider made his own choices. "I would honestly be thankful for anything you could possible offer, I'm not looking for a miracle just.. help.." Because she is only hitting a brick wall anymore with this.

Th'ero is likely aware of that relationship building between Abigail and Ha'ze but he sees no reason to step between it. So long as they can separate duty from their personal lives when needed… the Weyrleader has no issues with it. His brow quirks up, "You don't want me to tell him that you and I talked?" he asks, curious and surprised. There is no mention of So'l from him. It's none of his business (unless it affects the rider's duties). "I can only do so much, Abigail. The rest will be on Ha'ze's shoulders. Eventually he will have to learn to go his own path and not rely on others to chose for him. In this case, it'd have been much easier if he'd just come and speak to me personally." Rather than Th'ero have to go hunt him down now and play a cryptic game with the bronzerider. "I'll try, Abigail. I've… some ideas of what may work for him."

Abigail honestly can separate duty and personal lives, just this moment is the one exception it seems. "I'm just not sure how he'll take it knowing I brought the matter up." This is Ha'ze after all. "That's not the reason why I came Th'ero, he didn't /ask/ me to do this for him. I came to bring up the subject with ye because it is an concern with him. He if wishes to leave then so be it. I have told him before that if he wants that then to go. He wants to stay to some degree, there are ones here he feels connected to and he doesn't want to leave them, along with the fact that Kainaesyth needs a place to be during winter." The bronze does tend to sleep a good amount after all. Cryptic games and Ha'ze just go hand-in-hand anymore honestly.

"Then I won't mention our little talk," Th'ero states simply and with a grim look to his expression. "I had hoped Ha'ze would form more connections to make him feel at home here. Clearly…" That hasn't quite worked out. "Wish I knew what it was that drove him. He has the potential to be a good rider, a great one even, but he seems-" Lost? "- without purpose and I am not sure if it's for lack of desire or just lack of understanding in embracing the skills he has." No sense debating it and Th'ero sighs again, "I'll try to talk to him, Abigail. No promises on the outcome."

Abigail takes in a soft breath, a slight nod is seen and she is left quiet for a few moments. "I wish that I had an answer for that. It would make the situation different." She is rather sure of it. As for Ha'ze being lost, yes he is there is something missing indeed. "I'm sorry to trouble ye with this.." There is a pause seeing how much /else/ Th'ero has to deal with, and now to add one more thing to his plate it seems. If there was some way she could fix it, or knew a way to help Ha'ze she would have brought it up now. Another nod is seen while she stands once that is said. "Perhaps just ye talking to help will help." Small hopes for that. "I won't keep ye any longer, I'm thankful that ye had a moment for me to speak with ye on this matter."

Th'ero shakes his head and manages a small smile for the Wingleader, "Not bothering me at all, Abigail. Don't apologize. It's good that you keep me informed of such things. Otherwise how else am I to fix it or help in fixing it?" he murmurs and sensing an end to this meeting, he will slowly push to his feet. "Of course. Anytime you need to talk, you know where to find me."

Abigail smiles a moment and nods. "Thank ye Th'ero." His right, but still to her it feels a bit of a bother seeing how there are more pressing matters at hand honestly. "Aye, I will." Not that she has often found the need in the past, but she knows how to speak up with the needs presents itself it would seem. "I hope the rest of yer day goes well sir." Another slight nod seen before she is heading for the door to head off.
