Fort Weyr - Northeast Bowl
The northern end of the bowl can be an intimidating area, being that Fort is the largest weyr. The far north wall contains the gigantic opening to the hatching caverns, and to the west of that can be seen the sprawling ledges and carved stair cases that mark the way to the administration complex and the training grounds were candidates and weyrlings can often be found. The west cliff wall towers up, dotted here and there by darker openings that mark individual weyrs before it tapers to a point at Tooth Crag.

The hour of the dinner dance looms! One weyrling is already ready, waiting with her lifemate in the bowl, close to the entrance to the hatching grounds. A far cry from the practical outfits she typically favours, Thys has chosen a russet-coloured gown for the evening, well-tailored and elegant, and cut to make dancing easy. Her short hair has been adorned with a simple flower-shaped copper clip, which matches the pendant on her necklace. Rhenesath provides a comfortable leaning-post as Thys waits for her date to come meet her.

With the colder weather as of late, Ralik shows up wearing a thick scarf and a loose-fitting coat that falls to his knees, meaning most of his outfit isn't super easy to actually see. What is easy to see is the fact that he's well-groomed and what can be seen of his clothing is higher class than usual. He lifts a hand in a wave when he catches sight of Thys, easily picked out by both dress and her sizeable lifemate, then tucks it back into his pocket so he can close the distance. Smiling with a sense of wry amusement, he says, "You look beautiful. Now I feel mildly under-dressed." Seeing as the weather isn't good for real flowers, when Ralik takes his other hand out of his pocket and offers her something, it turns out to be a delicate glass flower with pearlescent petals on a simple burnished copper chain, "I thought I'd bring you flowers, but, well…" Ralik is actually blushing very faintly, though it could just be the weather.

A well-dressed Ralik is enough to bring a big smile to Thys's wide mouth when he approaches, and with a gentle stroke along her lifemate's leg she steps away from Rhenesath to meet him, standing in front of him with her hands clasped before her. "Thank you," she blushes when he compliments her, biting on her lip and dropping her gaze. "You polish up well yourself." Or what she can see of him does, anyway! Rhenesath arches her neck down to look more closely at Ralik and his gift, her eye whirling blue a metre or so from his head. She chuff-clucks in approval, giving the Glasscrafter a gentle nudge with her nose before pulling her head away. Thys laughs, shaking her head at her lifemate. "Rhen says you look very handsome, and worthy of me tonight, and… that is beautiful, Ralik. You really didn't have to!" She takes the flower into her hand, stroking a finger along one petal. "Would you help me to put it on, please? Then I think… ah, yeah - look, the others are already heading over to the living caverns."

Ralik looks up at the sudden head near him, tilting his own to peer curiously at Rhenesath only to smirk slightly at the way she words her approval. With a quiet laugh, he rubs the back of his neck absently and says, "Well, that's good… and yeah, I did." He glances over to see the other weyrlings moving off towards the caverns and offers a quick nod, picking up the chain and smiling lightly again, "Sure thing. I'm just glad it matches your hair a bit." What's funny is that they both chose copper accoutrements without any earlier planning, frankly. Stepping behind her, Ralik carefully slips the necklace around Thys's neck, his knuckles a faint brush of warm against the back of it as he clips it in place. He'll step back around, reaching down to take her hand as he looks her over once more and smiles, "Good. It suits you. Ready go go?" He'll pull her hand loosely into the curve of his arm, being quite formal and all that, prepared to head off towards the party.

Does Thys draw in a sharp little breath when Ralik's fingers touch her skin? Maybe - or maybe his hands are cold! She is blushing when he finishes though, and she allows him to take her hand as she falls in beside him. "Ready." She even starts to lead the way after giving Rhenesath a farewell glance, only to pause and turn to look at her date. "Ralik? I've never done this before. The whole date thing. I was still an apprentice up until I was Searched, so… so I guess I'm saying go easy on me?"

Ralik looks a little surprised at first only to shrug a moment later, smiling rather gently at Thys, "Don't worry about it. I haven't had much dating experience, either, what with me being an asshole and all." A bit of a grin followed by him squeezing her hand, "If anything bothers you or makes you uncomfortable tonight, just say so and I'll give you some space." Apparently it can be that easy sometimes. He will lift his hand after that to throw a wave back to the golden dragon(et) as they head towards the caverns.
