Fort Weyr - Living Caverns
This cavern, having been created by bubbles in the volcanic flow of this extinct volcano, has a breathtaking ceiling — a vast dome that arches high above the heads of the weyrfolk that scurry around beneath it. A hollow echo can be heard from loud enough noises, and the chatterings of various firelizards are consequently multiplied into a chaotic babble. All in all, the living cavern is a loud place.
Tables are scattered around the room, apparently in no particular order. Over to one side near the kitchens, two medium sized serving tables are constantly spread with snacks, klah, and other goodies. The tables look worn, yet perfectly fitted to the atmosphere of the caverns. In the 'corners' of the cavern, smaller two and four place tables are set up for more private talks or just a less chaotic atmosphere in which to eat.

It is early afternoon at Fort Weyr and the living cavern is all but deserted, with people staying in and away because of the illness running loose. K'drozen sits quietly near to the serving table reading over a report silently. His expresssion distant.

Kimmila stomps in from the outside air, bringing a chill with her as she pauses to shake off the snow that clings to her clothing and her boots. Once de-snowed, she tromps in to the back, getting a mug of klah and a bowl of steaming soup before she takes a seat a few spots away from K'drozen, nodding to him in silent greeting.

K'drozen looks up to Kimmila and smiles and says softly, "Hey there Kimmila." he looks to you and says, "Cold one out there huh?" he grins and leans back.

Kimmila chuckles. "Afternoon, K'drozen. And well, being winter, I can't really blame it. How've you been? Healthy?"

K'drozen chuckles and says, "As allways." he grins and says, "I don't seem to be affectted. I have been around sicks folks so…I don't know."

Kimmila leans back a bit with a little frown. "Huh. That's odd. But count your blessings I guess, if you've been around it but haven't caught it."

K'drozen nods and says softly, "I am." he says, "I have never been one to get sick though." he chuckles, "likely I will end up sicker then anyone.

Kimmila snorts. "Then you should stay away from those that are sick, if you think you're going to get sick," she remarks with a dry smirk in his direction.

K'drozen chuckles and says softly, "We are to busy for me to get sick right now." he smiles and leans back "Expecially with Abigail being all sick and stuff."

Kimmila laughs. "Last time I checked, 'hey, not now, I'm busy' wasn't an effective technique at keeping illness away. Staying away from illness is the best way. Or so the Healers tell me." Then her expression sobers. "Yes. Is she improving at all?"

K'drozen nods and says, "She is doing somewhat better." he smiles "And I am following the healers instructions, washing up and all. and I did wear a mask and all when I visited her." he grins, "It might not be the effective technique but being positive doesn't hurt."

Kimmila shrugs with a crooked grin. "Well good luck to you then, I hope it works out for you."

K'drozen says, "What else can we really do." he shrugs, "Thunderbird is the one wing really out there dealing with folks so we are going to be running into those infected, and transporting them to the healers so." he reaches and grabs his drink to take a long swig before saying, "Thats is what they pay us the big bucks for."

Kimmila shakes her head. "That's not true at all, K'drozen. Phoenix is out, as is Haast. Haast is transport, they're out a /lot/. I'm visiting cotholds, dropping off supplies."

K'drozen chuckles and says, "I know, I know." he raise his hand and says, "No offence meant." he smiles, "I just meant there is no avoiding sick folks for people with our job, we just have to deal with it and go on."

Kimmila nods slowly. "Right…" And that differs from the other wings how? She doesn't press it though, instead giving her focus to her soup and klah, letting it warm her up inside. "It's unfortunate because I think this means we won't have a winter festival this turn…"

K'drozen nods and says softly, "There is not much we can do about it." he smiles and says softly, "We will have something when this sickness passes I am sure."

Kimmila nods. "Perhaps, yes…perhaps. We'll see." She smiles a bit. "I'm just glad no one else in leadership has fallen ill."

K'drozen nods and says, "Very true. I am not sure what we would do if to many more of the weyr leaders went down with this. We are trying to pick up the slack with Abi down but."

Kimmila nods, finishing her meal and rising. "We'll just have to hope it doesn't come to that. Have a good afternoon, K'drozen. Clear skies."

K'drozen nods, "Clear skies Kimmila." he says, "I hope thing go well for you. If you need anything let us know."
