Fort Weyr - Lake Shore
This lake shares many features common to mountain lakes — a brilliant blue jewel nestled amongst the rocks. The waters are crystal clear, and the north shore slopes gently before abruptly falling away into the depths. This lake does have one significant differentiating feature, however. The south shore of the lake is a tumbled mass of rubble, rock and earth of an ancient rockslide smoothed only by the elements in the intervening years. This rubble, as well as the rather sheer east and west faces, makes for the north shore to be the only one easily accessible.

It is evening, a time of day that normally finds Polana deep inside the Weyr, curled up in her room getting ready for bed. Well, that or running this way and that delivering messages. If she has a choice she prefers to do the the first option. However, she will not skip out on the second if the time comes that she is needed. After all that time she spent as a drudge she does not want to go back. But tonight she is not out at the lake to deliver a message. No, this time she is here on her own free will. The blonde is wearing a night dress and looks rather annoyed as she walks to the edge of the lake. "Stupid fecking dreams," she mutters to herself.

If Polana was hoping for some alone time at the lake it doesn't seem to be that tonight. Abigail is there settled next to Niumdreoth, the large brown was just cleared to leave the dragonhealers sight and has went to the lake in order to take in the sights, and smells of someplace else. His right wing and shoulder has a good amount of numbweed across it still. Abbey would like to go up to her weyr and just sleep, though for now she will allow her dragon to have some peace and quiet out here.

Of all the people in the Weyr it just so happens that Abigail is one of the people most familiar to her. However, it is not her that she notices first. How could she possibly notice her first when there's a huge brown dragon there? Polana's eyes widen, surprised at seeing the great beast out in the middle of the night. Taking a few slow steps toward the dragon she murmurs, "hello there." It is then that she recognizes the brown and realizes who's dragon it is. Polana lets out a small sigh before calling, "hello, Abigail, wherever you are, and assuming your dragon didn't to go wander the Weyr at night all on his lonesome."

Niumdreoth glances to Polana, a soft crooning greeting escaping the large brown to greet the other it seems. His tired but not to the point that he is ready to sleep it seems. The voice gets Abbey's attention and she lifts her head slightly. The windsecond is settled within the front legs of her dragon, leaning back slightly against his chest. "Evening Polana.. Didn't think others would be awake now."

Oh, so that's where she is. After dipping her head in greeting to Niumdreoth at his croon she raises an eyebrow at the sight of the Wingsecond sitting between her dragon's legs. Why would someone want to sit there? It doesn't look very comfortable. Either way, it's not something very important at the moment. With a small shrug she responds, "I didn't expect to see anyone out or be out. Unfortunately sleep doesn't come easy." She then lets out a slight huff and sits down at the sands, but not before circling around for a few times to make sure it's clean.

Abigail is actually very comfortable where she is sitting, she's not had time to be with Niumdreoth without a dragonhealer around buzzing and poking so she is taking what she can get at the mome.t "Sok, I'd rather be asleep. He wanted to come watch the water." A slight shrug is seen before she smiles a moment. "How have ye been?"

Polana gives a small nod at her words. Well of course she'd rather be asleep! Who wouldn't? It's horrifically late, you'd have to be insane to want to be awake at this time of night. She can't really understand why her dragon wanting to see the water would make her stay up that late, but then again she doesn't have a dragon. So she declares it rider stuff and leaves it at that. In response to her question she says, "pretty good. Got a promotion to messenger, haven't had much drama lately, and met a couple nice guys the other day. Yourself?"

Abigail ahs softly at this while she looks back towards the water. "Glad ta hear ye are keeping out of trouble then." The last time she was in trouble Polana did slap /her/ brother after all. "Can't complain at the moment."

Did it just get awkward? She could swear it just got awkward. Polana has never exactly been super close, or even exactly friends with Abigail, but that doesn't change the fact that she doesn't like awkwardness, period. For a moment she is silent, trying to rake her head for what could have possibly happened to cause this. After all, it's been a long time since she last talked to her. And the only thing that happened that could possibly involve her after that was… oh. That's probably it then. Clearing her throat awkwardly Polana looks down at the ground before saying, "that was your brother I slapped a while back, wasn't it. Sorry about that. I think I already apologized to him but…" She trails off. Apologizing for anything has never been easy for her, not anywhere close.

Abigail slowly stretches and stands up, her shoulders rolling as she goes. "Aye that was.. His name is Borodin." This said with a soft tone, her pale gaze settles on Polana whom she watches a few moments. "I suggest ye make sure that ye did apologize to him." If she did, well then it'll just get done agian! Though she doesn't seem mad, so that should be a good thing.

Polana nods in response to her order disguised as a suggestion. No arguing and saying that she's pretty sure she already apologized this time. After all, Abigail is a wingsecond now and could probably move her out of her position. And there's no way she wants that to happen! In an effort to change the subject she comments, "so, I heard the Junior Weyrwoman's gold rose recently. Did your boy chase? I know browns chase golds at times and he certainly looks big enough to do so."

Abigail actually couldn't do anything of the sense, she is a rider and deals with things in search and rescue, anything else is all up for the Headwoman. Though this works out in her favor for th emoment. The talk on the flight makes her blink, a faint ah escapes her while she looks up to Niumdreoth. "Aye, he chased.. Got hurt during it too." He nearly fell from the sky actually. Niumdreoth doesn't seem worried about this, a slight snort esacpes the large brown.

A small frown crosses her face when she says that Niumdreoth had gotten hurt during the flight. A small croon-like sigh leaves her as she murmurs, "aww, poor boy. I hope he feels alright." Soon after she speaks a large yawn leaves her. It seems that coming out to the lake did the trick and she is now ready to go to bed. So she stands up and with a quick nod to Abigail says, "well, I should best be getting to bed now."

Abigail nods slightly at the talk of the flight. "It is something that can happen.." If was wasn't for Ers'lan and his dragon it could have been different story. She nods once more at the talk of the other heading to bed. "Have a good night now." A waveis seen while she watches the other go before looking to her dragon. "Come on now, let's get going.." The two are off leaveing now to head homewords for sure.
