Fort Weyr - Training Complex
The remnants of a historic collapse are apparent here, as the slope face of the bowl has a predominant downward curvature. It's likely long ago, that a cavern larger than any Fort currently has was where the training complex currently is. A probable cave in triggered a fissure on the bowl wall which lead to a great chunk of it dislodging, thus creating the rounded slope.
Yet, many centuries later, all that remains to give evidence is the pocket made into the bowl wall. It seems that the inhabitants of Fort Weyr have made best of the created space. Rock on the ground proper has long since cleared, but pebbles and loose shale are constantly underfoot. Still, the sprig of some green leafed vegetation isn't too out of the ordinary in these parts, as long as it doesn't get trampled by the comings and goings.
It's clear that this area has been designated for the training of young minds, whether human or dragon. Surrounded by rock on all side, it's like a personal weyr bowl for the youngsters to minimize distraction and danger. The candidate barracks have been built across from the Weyrling barracks, so that one group can educate the next. Finally, placed in the centre of the two entrances of the opposing barracks, near the rock face, is a statue with a memorial plaque.

"Kainaesyth." There's a weary rebuke that comes from Ha'ze's lips, as if this isn't the first time he's had to call back the wandering attention of the bronze. While most young dragons are more than interested in food, Kainaesyth is well, he likes to eat and wander at the same time. This means that feeding Kainaesyth is a rather long process where Kai eats a bite, wanders away, comes back and then does it again, leaving Ha'ze to just WAIT more or less impatiently. "I ain't going to be oilin' you till you be done with all of this."

Nyalle approaches the training grounds with Kayeth in tow, the small (relatively speaking) Senior queen gleaming with health and oiling, seeking the curious young dragons which she's already forgotten are hers. "Ha'ze," Nyalle says with a warm smile for the bronzeling, while Kayeth's mind extends to Kainaesyth's, her sandy shores cool with ocean grasses blowing in the breeze.

Ha'ze picks himself to his feet and salutes the senior queen, running a hand through his hair after he drops it. "Ma'am." His eyes cut back to the form of his wandering bronze though, who upon feeling that gentle mindtouch is bounding closer to get a better look. He remembers the feeling of that touch, for it is someone very special. The tempered heat rising from the lush canyon floor rises up to twine among the cool, as Kainaesyth circles right around the gold. « Hello! » A chipper greeting.

Nyalle returns the salute with a warm and pleased smile. "How are you both doing today?" she asks, watching with a soft laugh as the bronze circles the much larger gold. Kayeth's muzzle dips towards the young dragon and she rumbles fondly down at him, those cool breezes dancing and mixing with the canyon's. « Hello, Kainaesyth. »

"We would be doing better if he would stop taking forever to eat." There is a slight glower in Ha'ze's look at Kainaesyth. "With Kayeth here I doubt he'll get back to it till she's gone." A slight note of resignation there now. Kainaesyth comes across Kayeth's larger tail and stops abruptly. The breezes pick up abruptly, and race towards the canyon's edge, picking up small seeds and flecks of sand. The muscles in his legs begin to bunch, and his large wings spread before Ha'ze shouts out, "Don't even think about it Kai."

Nyalle looks sheepish. "Sorry about that," she says quietly. She's about to say more when Kayeth's tail shifts, curling in on itself and taking away his jumping obstacle. « Not yet, little one, » she says fondly. « But soon you will fly and run and chase all sorts of things. » Probably even chase her a time or two. « You are not interested in eating? » She takes a few of those seeds and settles them on her balmy shores, and with a swift brush of rain, they begin to bloom.

A sigh of breezes follows the taking away of Kainaesyth's next adventure, and he allows his wings to fold again by his side, tucked neatly away again. Distraction follows soon after though, as those green buds spring up from the ground. « Rain, sunlight, food. Will they last in the sand? » A pause, as his breezes shift through and recognize her question. « Eating can be done many times. Ha'ze does not understand that there are things to be seen and one should only eat when things are not to be seen. » Ha'ze listens to Kainaesyth's still too loud mindvoice and shakes his head. "I wish he was small enough that I could pin him down. He'll get it all just…" He shakes his head and realizes he's talking to the weyrwoman, and smiles a bit sheepishly. "Sorry."

Kayeth studies the green fronds in the sand. « They will, » she promises, amused, « because they are in my thoughts and I will keep them safe. » She considers his answers and chuckles. « Yes but you need to eat to grow. And you need to grow so you can explore more. You will not fly if you are not strong, and you get strong by eating. » Smiling, Nyalle waves off his apology. "Don't apologize, Ha'ze, it's a big change for you."

Kainaesyth ponders for a moment, before a faint sound of flute music curls skyward with his breezes. « I suppose. I will eat now. » He finishes his circuit around the gold and slides over to where Ha'ze and that bucket-of-food is. Ha'ze is about to reply to Nyalle when Kainaesyth presents himself for said feeding, and his eyes widen. "Well. That's a first since he hatched."

Nyalle smiles adoringly at her queen, the expression lingering in her eyes for a moment before it fades and she looks back at Ha'ze and his little bronze. "Kayeth spoke to him about the importance of eating well." The queen croons softly, spreading her wings to fan them and then tucking them against her sides. Dipping her muzzle, she meets Nyalle's lifted hand with a rumble of satisfaction.

Ha'ze kneels down and begins to feed the bronze, who eats neatly, gulping down piece after peace. "I hope he remembers." A question occurs to him and he glances up, then shakes his head. No, he'll ask another time.

Nyalle gently rubs Kayeth's muzzle. "If he doesn't, you can always have him ask Kayeth about it? She won't remember this conversation after a while but her answer will always be the same I'm sure."

"He wouldn't mind askin' to be sure." Ha'ze sits on his heels as Kainaesyth decides that he was hungry and makes very short work of the meal. As he gets to that point of satisfaction and then over into gluttony, his breezes slow, and the soft scent of sage and juniper billows up. « Tired now. » And like all young things, he moves just inches to find himself a place in the bright sunlight, curls up, and falls asleep abruptly. "Really?" Ha'ze shakes his head again.

Nyalle giggles softly at the sight of the little bronze, and then her smile is warm and understanding for Ha'ze. "He won't do that for much longer. Enjoy the break, maybe go get yourself a real meal. We'll be going now." She touches her fingers to her brow and with a gentle touch to Kayeth's hide, the pair turn to leave.
