Fort Weyr - Th'ero and Velokraeth's Weyr

This weyr is opulent and almost as large as one of the ground weyrs and the ledge outside can easily fit two large dragons. The broad shelf ties in directly to the stairs leading down to the bowl below and over to the administration complex, making it easily accessible from both levels and the other end of the ledge curves around as it meets the stone wall of the Weyr and then turns inwards. Carved and smoothed by time, the covered wallow offers more ample space for the residing dragon and one more should a companion be welcomed in. Sheltered by the worst of the elements, it's a perfect hideaway from winter cold and the slight lip allows for large blackets to be draped over it without sliding downwards. The stone floor is smooth, having been worn down over the Turns. Toward the back of the dragon area, there is a wall with a small entranceway leading into a tiny alcove and nook, where several chests, supplies and pegs to hold the straps rest. Beyond this is a narrow hallway, hidden and secreted from view by a grey hued rug, but allows a secondary and private access to the main living area.
Accessible from the ledge outside, two large wooden double doors lead into the wide and spacious living area. Raised like a natural formed dias, a tiny foyer opens up just steps past those doors, gradually and subtly inclining down into the rough semicircular shape of the room. Along the same wall of the doors but further in is a large stone hearth and in front of it lies a very large and well woven rug. Placed on top is a low, dark wood table and behind it is a long, deep cushioned and equally dark leather couch. Thick pillows rest at each end and there is a matching chair to go with the set though it rests to the side and facing back towards the doors. Shelves have been carved into the wall, little recessed pockets that allow for a variety of items to be placed, though most commonly used for glow baskets. The smoothed wall curves at the right handed side, extending out to create a semi-partition, an illusion that the room is in fact made of two pieces.
Tucked away in this hollow is the kitchenette, visible either from approaching it as one walks towards the back of the weyr or through the mock arch window carved at shoulder height into the rock wall extension. There are ample cabinets and counter space, all made with good stone though they are worn a bit by age. Almost directly across from the kitchenette, where the wall slopes and turns to form a natural hallway, another entrance has been carved into the stone. It is a spare room, converted into a modest and cramped personal office and contains little more than a stout and well aged, well cared for wooden desk and a bookshelf crammed with a variety of reading material.
Following the hallway back deeper in the weyr, another entrance opens to the left and one directly ahead with both covered by a thin hanging rug that can be tied back if privacy is required. The left side opens up to the bathroom, large enough for two people. There is a large basin tub carved of the same stone of the wall it was hollowed from and one of the few to have actual plumbing to allow hot and cold water to be poured in directly. The rest of the necessities are tucked away beyond and recessed a bit. A large vanity and mirror takes up most of one of the walls, the countertop made of a lighter stone and the wash basin of a neutral porcelain.
The last entrance set at the end of the hallway leads into a bedroom of a slightly more modest size. Pushed against the far wall, the bed is low and large enough to comfortably fit two grown adults. It's piled with pillows and cushions near the dark wooden headboard and a thick blanket rests overtop, with more furs and spare blankets folded and resting on top of an old and worn chest at the foot of the bed. A dresser has been set to the right of the entrance and across from it a full length mirror rests. Like the living area, shelves have been carved into the stone, as well as more of the small recessed alcoves that hold more glow baskets. No decoration or tapestries hang here, leaving the bedroom rather sombre and neutral for color, save for the dark green vine like plant from a high shelf just below the low ceiling and has been trained to grow along it and then down either side of the wall.

It is now edging towards evening on that fine, clear, summer day that had half the Weyr outside to enjoy it. Some are still out, not wanting to waste a single moment with such luck weather wise. For others, duty calls. The Weyrleader has been busy of late — busier that usual — and so when he finally escapes his office off of the council chambers, he is returning to his weyr rather than going out to enjoy the public scene. There may be another reason why Th'ero returns too, namely the sight of a certain blue lounging with Velokraeth on the ledge, which means Kimmila is within as well. He'll disappear inside and nothing unusual will occur.

Moments ago, Velokraeth had spoken briefly to Rhyrith, letting the brown know that yes, his rider was indeed within the Weyr but just in his office. That Angelique could come by in a candlemark or so to the weyr. Give or take! Not the office, the weyr. When she comes up those stairs and to the ledge, Velokraeth will rumble a low, warm and sweet greeting to the assistant Headwoman to let her know that she is welcome. The door leading inside is unlocked. In his distracted state, Th'ero had forgotten his habit of locking in and if Angelique is brave enough to nudge it open if knocking doesn't bring a response well… she'll be greeted alright.

Not greeted by the Weyrleader or even Kimmila. Oh no, she'll be greeted by the MUCH more awkward sound of laughter and… squeals. Followed by a comment voiced by the bluerider exclaiming: "No, Th'ero, not there!" And more laughter, this time far deeper and clearly that of the Weyrleader. What on Pern did the poor Assistant Headwoman just possibly walk in on?

Indeed the message was passed along from the brown…sort of. Deciding to let a little more time than the candle mark suggested she finishes up whatever task that was interrupted before her trip to the storage room which takes longer than expected so when she's done with that then something else comes up. Eventually she manages to withdraw herself from the kitchens with a small bowl of scraps for Skyler. The blue fed and content he curls up on her shoulder with his tail wrapping around her neck for balance as he dozes. It's a short walk across the bowl towards where she /thinks/ the weyr of the Weyrleader is at. Luckily she doesn't miss her mark so she finds herself passing the bronze with a warm smile in greeting. Since it seems rude to simply pass by without saying anything she greets him. "Good evening Velokraeth. Better to see you here and dry and not in the river eh?" she teases though honestly she has no idea if he completely understand her spoken words since she can't speak mind to mind. That says she now finds herself before the door and she knocks once.

Knock. Pause. No answer so she nudges it open once she can see it's not closed quite all the way. "Weyrlead….ooh!" um…oops. She's several steps in the weyr /and/ she's already called out ( or at least started too). Not to mention the bronze has seen her so really there's no good way to retreat cleanly from this.

Velokraeth can understand perfectly well and if he were human, he'd be smiling with a smug sort of amusement for Angelique's choice of greeting. Instead he only chuffs, which is a sign of good humor for the pale bronze. Inside the weyr though, Th'ero had assumed he'd have some time and privacy to enjoy with Kimmila before the world intervened again. The two are on the couch and well… clearly preoccupied. With tickling each other between far more amorous caressing while — well, if the clothing strewn about on the floor is any indication, it's not hard to realize that they're completely naked. By some small mercy, there IS a blanket that is covering some of the more, ahem, lower regions on either of them. All of this comes to a screeching halt as Angelique's voice breaks through and Th'ero is sitting up with alarming speed, head turning with a look of dumbfounded horror written over his usually stoic expression. "Turn around!" he barks at the poor (scarred?) assistant Headwoman, while his hands roughly tug up the edge of the blanket to try and shield Kimmila. Then the swearing begins, heated and animated.

Kimmila is clearly shocked into silence for a moment when they're /invaded/ upon, sitting up and turning to stare at Angelique. And then the bluerider starts to giggle, and then laugh. And laugh, and laugh, and laugh as she gives Th'ero a little shove and stands - assuming Angelique turns - grabbing up her clothes. "Oh, sweet Faranth. You have /got/ to remember to lock that damn door, wingmate," she teases him. Maaaaybe not the best time to tease, but she's covering the HELLO AWKWARD with laughter.

With those sounds being heard perhaps Angelique assumed that they were coming from deeper in the weyr. As she finds the source and sees that actually they are on the couch she /blushes/ a deep crimson color that might actually make her eyes even more pale blue than they already are. Indeed it's a wide-eyed expression of shock mingled with deep embarrassment as the situation happens. Oh dear oh dear! At his barked order she spins so quickly that poor Skyler leaps off with a squawk of alarm and careens across the weyr and nearly into the laps of those two on the couch! Oops? The ill-timed teasing from the equally naked blue rider draws the barest hint of a smile from Ang, hopefully unseen as she has her back towards the couple now.

Th'ero is not laughing. Th'ero is the complete opposite of laughing. He still looks so horrified that Angelique witnessed any of that and he only stares incredulously at Kimmila's teasing. The Weyrleader has never dealt with awkward very well… "I swear I had!" he exclaims, hurriedly reaching for his clothes — at least his pants — first. Even Velokraeth is reach to Varmiroth to back up his flustered and mortified rider. « He actually does recall locking it. Strange! He has the thought and yet it wasn't done. » Perplexing! Th'ero starts as poor Skyler goes flying, the blue promptly heckled by the resident trio, green, brown and bronze firelizards respectfully. Angelique won't be the only one blushing, Th'ero sports quite the red color to his skin as he slips his tunic back on and does his best to recover. Casting a quick glance to Kimmila to be sure she is dressed as well, the Weyrleader clears his throat. Uh, yeah. Hello? How does he start? What are you doing here? No, too harsh. "Is there something so urgent you need to discuss?" he asks, smirking and… not quite meeting Angelique's gaze once the woman turns back around.

Kimmila calms down after the initial burst of OMG AWKWARD, hastily slipping into her clothes. Except…she forgot her bra. Whoops. She just shoves that under a couch cushion to get later. Glancing at Th'ero, she frowns a bit at the door and wanders over to check the mechanism of the lock. Maybe it's faulty. « Mine is checking it, » Varmiroth says, the blue equally uncomfortable that someone else saw his rider naked. Frowning a bit at Skyler, Kimm sits on the edge of the couch and clears her throat a bit. "So, uh. Hi."

Angelique has to /turn around/? Oh right…she will. The conversation shouldn't be conducted with her back to the now clothed couple. After all they might check out her great tushie or something. Poor Skyler getting heckled even as his owner stands there and tries to regain what composure she can. "My pardons Weyrleader… Kimmila." kudos to her for not stammering as she turns to face then with restraint to cast her eyes downwards. Nope, she'll look right into Th'ero's undoubtably unhappy gaze. Is there ever a time that she'll see him under normal circumstances?? "Oh..hi Kimmila." she adds hastily, forgetting to continue her reply to the Weyrleader right away. "Cuts and bruises healing up okay?"

"The lock is fine!" Th'ero grumbles, which of course means he's admitting to it all being his fault in a momentary blip of conscious thought. Just a bit more insult to injury now that he knows he IMAGINED locking the door! The Weyrleader will gesture for Angelique to take a seat in one of the chairs. Not the couch, which he promptly settles on again with a respectful distance between him and Kimmila. His way to recover composure is to sit there tense and rigidly stiff in posture, looking SO uncomfortable and awkward he should not even bother attempting to be calm and collected. Oh, his gaze is unhappy but not for Angelique being there. The door was open, after all… "Never mind. It was an — accident. Unintentional." Yes. That's it. Clearing his throat again, he'll allow Kimmila time to answer Angelique's concern before he's prying at her for the second time. "And… do you need something, Angelique? Is there something amiss?"

Kimmila shrugs and gives up on the lock, walking over to the couch. She hesitates when she sees how much ROOM Th'ero has left her…and she shows a rather wicked streak when she sits down /right/ next to him, snuuuuuggling right up to his side, her head on his shoulder and her legs tucked beneath her on the couch. When he can't see her face, she winks at Angelique. Has she been drinking? "I'm fit as a fiddle, thank you. You?"

Angelique hesitates for only a moment before she settles into the chair. There's really no doubt that she'd try to sit on the couch between, next too or on their laps. Nope. A silent call is cast towards Skyler to bring him back to her shoulder with an unhappy cheep. "Go wait in my room then." is murmured to him. He leaps up and pops *between*. That done she turns attention first to Kimmila as she answers her and counters with a question. "Fading bruises but nothing more than that thankfully." now her blue gaze shifts to Th'ero. She'll say nothing about the lock but certainly she doesn't /look/ like the sort to do any lock picking to force her way into the Weyrleaders weyr does she? Most likely not. Need something? For a moment she goes blank as she frantically tries to recall her reason for her visit. "Oh right!" she says hastily. "The storeroom. I want to report an incident that happened this afternoon. Brownrider..Kdro..K'drozen." she stumbles a bit over the name. "Was there as well and will be reporting to his Wingleader but I wanted to ensure the situation was brought up to you, sir."

Has she been drinking? Th'ero could go for a drink — or a whole bottle — of something right about now. He'll stiffen as Kimmila snuggles right up to his side and then rests her head on his shoulder and the Weyrleader begins to lean away but thinks better of it. Enough that Angelique witnessed what she did. Don't need to add him all but denying his weyrmate something as chaste as a close cuddle (or send her tumbling off the couch). So he'll relax a little and allow it to pass, but not without a brief, darted sideways look to the bluerider before he's focusing on the assistant Headwoman. Smirking when she has to recall the reason for her ah, timely visit, the Weyrleader will wait and then she suddenly has his full attention. Awkward arrival and greetings aside! "To his Wingleader?" Frowning, Th'ero brushes that aside and instantly begins to pepper the poor woman with questions. "Who else was involved or was it just you and K'drozen? What did you discover?" Spill it!

Kimmila just grins, snuggling there. But her focus is on Angelique, and not her weyrmate. Frowning slightly, eyes shift up to look at Th'ero and then re-focus on the assistant headwoman, waiting for the story.

Velokraeth projects to Varmiroth . o O ( Mine wishes to know what yours is up to, with the cuddling? I tell him that he shouldn't complain, but he's being fickle and tells me that now is not the time. How can it be a bad time to be cuddled with a female? )

Angelique shifts a bit in the chair, perhaps feeling all alone in it? Tucking her own legs up under her to get comfortable she rests her hands on her knees and recites clearly. "The three of us happened upon the storage room at the same time just in time to hear glass breaking. It appears there were two youths inside. I was going to simply listen at the slightly ajar door for a moment but I couldn't stop the brownrioder from entering in quickly." her eyes flash brightly in annoyance. "He seems to think himself a guard or something." evidently she knows little of him. "When I left he was consulting the last inventory list I had with me against the items in the room." she pauses then continues. "There was a lad, quite dirty in appearance and a girl in there."

Velokraeth senses that Varmiroth is a bit confused, as he tries to figure out the same thing. Finally, he comes up with, « She is…playful. She is very amused that they were caught. She says…she says it'd be good for his reputation? » The blue doesn't understand that last part.

No way was Th'ero going to invite Angelique on the couch. That'd just be so much wrong and mega-awkward, considering what she just stumbled in on. The Weyrleader pays no more heed to Kimmila's snuggling and simply braces his weight (by leaning back) to support her. His focus is on the assistant Headwoman as she recites her report. One that leaves him frowning heavily, lips pressed into a thin and grim line. "I'll have to have Wingleader Nishkia speak with K'drozen concerning his behavior. As for these youths… You didn't happen to get their names? Or a description of them beyond their state of dress?" he asks, his tone firm. "Did you recognize any of them?" That seems to be the most important question of all and he lowers his eyes to try and catch Kimmila's gaze briefly. What does she think?

Kimmila may still be snuggling, but she is paying close attention to the report, shifting her head a bit to watch the assistant headwoman thoughtfully. "You think they were our thieves?" she asks quietly. "Or just some kids messing around?" She'll wait, then, for Angelique to answer Th'ero's questions, because they're important ones.

Varmiroth senses that Velokraeth is confused AND amused, his mind rippling with chuckled laughter, smoke and spice. « She has an odd sense of timing to play! Mine is as prickly as a needlethorn bush right now! And which reputation does she speak of? » he drawls, amusement growing. Does the bronze get it?

Varmiroth projects to Velokraeth . o O ( I do not argue with you there, brother. She does. And she speaks of his reputation of being…not a man who laughs or plays or relaxes. Or a man that's naked. She says. )

Angelique offers no reaction to Th'ero's remark of him speaking to Wingleader Nishikia over the brown rider other than a simple nod. She pauses before giving a reply to his question, perhaps thinking back to the pair in the room to put them fully into her mind. "No. I didn't recognize either one of them and as far as I can remember of their clothing I saw no knots either but…" she offers a shrug at that. "They were teens I think. Over 12 but not my age." which she won't reveal unless tortu..asked. She gives a firm shrug of uncertainty at Kimmi's question. "I'm not sure. I would hate to say yes right away but I don't want to completely discount the possibility either."

Kimmila's questions hold importance too! Th'ero listens with rapt attention and is silent for a few (awkward) moments after Angelique has given her answers. He appears lost in his thoughts and for a brief moment the Weyrleader looks almost troubled. Clearly, while the assistant Headwoman is not willing to pass judgement on the youth, he IS and already has. "No names, no clear identification…" he murmurs, casting another look to his weyrmate where she snuggles against his side before looking back to Angelique. "Were they carrying anything? Did they have a reason for being IN the storage rooms?"

Kimmila frowns slightly, tilting her head to peer up at Th'ero. "Suspicious," she murmurs softly. "Very suspicious. And you say K'drozen is doing an inventory? I think you should do one too…Just…in case he misses something."

Angelique shifts a bit on the chair with a hint of discomfort in her expression. Had she liked the idea of K'drozen doing the inventory? Most likely not. She doesn't outright say so but she does say. "I'll do another inventory. I was surprised at his insistence to do one and I didn't wish to argue with the rider." in other words she didn't feel it was /her/ place to tell him no. "The girl." she says after a moment's thought. "I think she had a satchel. The boy just had some odds and ends in his pcoekts. She had a couple water skins I think and something else. /He/ said he was down there exploring while /she/ said she was looking for some knitting needles for an old auntie."

Th'ero utters a low sound of agreement when Kimmila murmurs to him and then gives her a longer, lingering sideways look out of the corner of his eyes when she mentions the brownrider again. His mouth twists into a smirk and the Weyrleader stares at Angelique next when it seems the assistant Headwoman is showing a hint of discomfort. "That is his way." he says briskly and dismissively. It seems that his opinion of the brownrider is… difficult and that his earlier claim that he will be speaking to the Wingleader of Thunderbird is far more true than before. "Those stories, the fact that neither match up is unsettling. Knitting needles for an old auntie? I don't know. Something isn't quite right with them. And you're certain they did not give any names? Nothing more of a hint?"

Kimmila shakes her head firmly, sitting up a bit. She's still nestled against Th'ero's side, but she's no longer resting her head on his shoulder. "The stores are /your/ domain, yours and the Staff's and the Weyrwoman's. You can tell him no," she says firmly. "Being a rider in this weyr does not mean they can go anywhere they please, and do whatever they want."

Not being weyrbred perhaps that's exactly what Angelique thought as she casts a startled glance towards Kimmila as she firmly states that riders can't not go anywhere they please and do whatever they want. Filing that tidbit of information away in her mind for later she redirects her full attention to Th'ero. "It was bordering on suspicious though really not so much so I felt we had any reason to hold them or question them further. She signed the board with Jazelle though if that's her real name I am unsure. I plan on asking around the caverns though to see if anyone recognizes their description."

Th'ero has to bite firmly on his tongue to keep from saying something to Kimmila at the end of her statement, though the corners of his mouth quirk up into a hint of a wry smile and a soft, brief, chuckle (or was it a cough) escapes him. He'll dip his head in agreement, "She speaks the truth. As Assistant Headwoman, you have some authority over the riders when it comes to the storerooms." Frowning, the name Angelique supplies has him running a quick check to which he very rapidly shakes his head. "See that you do and report to us again — in my office," he stresses with another one of his looks. "Of your findings. Or of any further suspicious activity."

Kimmila continues to frow, nodding her head slightly. "Thanks or letting us know so swiftly. Seems like we do have some suspicious activity. Still." Which means she was wrong.

Angelique could have sworn she was told to report to his weyr. Honest! Still though she starts to stand as she's clearly come to the end of her report and perhaps the pair on the couch wants to return to ahem, prior activities. Of which Angelique is sorely lacking in. She should go stalk some young cute guy….Her head bobs to both riders with a faint smile tugging at the corners of her mouth despite the grimness of the situation she just reported. "I hope it was nothing related but I'll report anything else I see Weyrleader." is said firmly. "To your office. Thank you for taking my report." she will start to head towards the door out.

She probably was told to report to the weyr and Velokraeth's tampering is written all over this. Snuggling or not, once Angelique stands, Th'ero will push to his feet as well in order to properly say farewell to the assitant Headwoman. His expression gives away nothing of what may come to pass once she is gone, but the frown remains from before and it could be that his night will be filled with work instead. No rest for the Weyrleader! "We all hope it is not related. And you're welcome." Another silent pause as he begins to head to the door to unlock it, before he's turnin to give Angelique another long look. "For future reference? Always question why you are being sent to my weyr over the office. No harm done, but it will save some uh… embarrassing greetings." So eloquently put! He clears his throat then and opens the door, stepping aside to allow her to walk through when she is ready. "Clear skies, Angelique."

Kimmila gets to her feet as well, nodding her head and giving the assistant headwoman a warm smile. "Thanks for reporting it," she says with a nod. As for the office vs. weyr situation…she thought it was hilarious.

Angelique smothers a reply of 'who' is she going to ask since she got this particular set of instructions via a brown dragon speaking to the bronze dragon speaking to his life mate…it was a lot of room for miscommunication! "Clear skies Weyrleader. Kimmila." she says politely. She'll say nothing of the greetings she had gotten in the forms of giggles and naked weyrleaders. Nope! WE'll hope she's not the gossiping type..which she's not!

At last! Peace and quiet. Th'ero closes the door behind Angelique and then promptly locks it, checks it again (and a third time) and then turns to stride back towards the couch. "Well, that was sharding embarrassing!" he exclaims with a sigh as he flops down on the cushions, hands scrubbing at his face. "We can only hope she's not the gossiping type!" Th'ero blinks then and groans. "I should've warned her not to say a single word…" Too late now! Sighing, he then stares up at Kimmila and then he frowns, puzzled. "And you… You were certainly snuggly and affectionate."

Kimmila laughs, shaking her head. "It was, but…it's not like we were doing anything /wrong/, wingmate," she says with a crooked smile. "What's wrong with people - or just her - knowing that we're affectionate and have fun with each other? And I seriously doubt she'd go gossip about it…" Then she grins at him. "Did it bother you?"

"Of course we weren't doing anything wrong!" Th'ero scoffs, giving Kimmila a funny look as he leans back against the couch, spreading his arms over the top of it and NOW he looks relaxed again. Reasonably so. "But it was private! That's my issue. I'm sure she and other folk know we're affectionate. They don't need to know that we wrestle naked on the couch, however… OR be witness to it!" Shaking his head, he smirks. "Only because I was startled." he mutters.

Kimmila laughs, snuggling up against him again with exaggerated movements. "It was private, yes," she says with a laugh. "Until it wasn't. I don't know. I thought it was funny." Slipping her hand beneath his tunic, she seeks to tickle him with a wicked grin. "Shall we continue, then?" she drawls, leaning up to nibble his neck. Maybe she wants to get some play time in before more serious matters in trude. Again.

Th'ero twitches away when she seeks to tickle him and he looks over at her first with a surprised chuckle and then a wry smile curves his lips. His eyes flash and he begins to slowly shift his weight on the couch. "Oh, it IS funny now. It just wasn't at the time!" he drawls and then his smile turns into a wicked grin and he all but pounces on her, in full attack mode! Hands seek any part of her to tickle and she'll have her answer then: yes! He does want to continue and this time he will goad her into a game of chase straight into the bedroom where they can go about "playing" before the world intrudes again.
