Fort Weyr - Training Complex
The remnants of a historic collapse are apparent here, as the slope face of the bowl has a predominant downward curvature. It's likely long ago, that a cavern larger than any Fort currently has was where the training complex currently is. A probable cave in triggered a fissure on the bowl wall which lead to a great chunk of it dislodging, thus creating the rounded slope.
Yet, many centuries later, all that remains to give evidence is the pocket made into the bowl wall. It seems that the inhabitants of Fort Weyr have made best of the created space. Rock on the ground proper has long since cleared, but pebbles and loose shale are constantly underfoot. Still, the sprig of some green leafed vegetation isn't too out of the ordinary in these parts, as long as it doesn't get trampled by the comings and goings.
It's clear that this area has been designated for the training of young minds, whether human or dragon. Surrounded by rock on all side, it's like a personal weyr bowl for the youngsters to minimize distraction and danger. The candidate barracks have been built across from the Weyrling barracks, so that one group can educate the next. Finally, placed in the centre of the two entrances of the opposing barracks, near the rock face, is a statue with a memorial plaque.

Today, like other days as of late, B'yrl is settled in the training complex, book in hand (though not likely read), and Xia wandering around, exploring things already explored. She's just finishing her uncountable round, and heads over to B'yrl, leaning against his leg lightly. "A good time until we can go. Swimming is not for the young ones. Oiling we shall do for you. My book? No, It's location is known and in hand." A moment later Xia snags the book in her mouth and zips off, convinced B'yrl needs some actual fun! "Xia!" B'ryl jumps up and runs after.

Regardless of the reason for the Igen pair to be here, they are here, and Saethiath is not about to lose a chance to play with those who have as much energy as her. Thus she is here, long before tiny Abrael is able to catch up. Her small body springs up over a wall, freezing completely as her eyes catch upon the sprint of green. She's utterly still only her eyes whirling with excitement as the baby dragon dashes past. Her toughts reach out, splashing a vibrant orange streak across the mind of the little green. « What is this game you play? I wish to play! How can I join? » She's going to move in a second regardless of Xianeth's answer, but she'll give her a SPLIT SECOND to decide.

Xia screeches to a stop at the metal orange, nearly causing B'yrl to spill over her. He reaches to get the book, but Xia is off again before he can reach it, sending a meatal picture of fireworks to the other little dragon. « Have to get B'yrl to play! Want to go explore, and swim, and meet new dragons! » A single moment later, « You're a new dragon! I want to meet you! »

Saethiath is off like a shot, placing herself right at Xianeth's side in one short bound and a slight glide. She's larger than the little one, but that doesn't stop her from trying to twine herself about Xianeth. Her mind takes in the fireworks, and splashing them into sharp relief, their colors those of a drip paint, excitement writ upon the sharp lines of the painting. « You have taken his book? I am Saethiath, my Abrael will be here soon.» Abrupt is the introduction, but Saethiath doesn't wait for the little one to introducce herself, but barrels forward with energy that has not extinguished a single bit since her own only-just-barely-past baby-hood. « You are still small. That wall is a good place to go. »

Xia glances over to Saethiath, taking her measure and mindspeak. « This is my B'ryl, and he's going to need my help discovering the world! » she tells the other, still zipping about keeping away from B'yrl (who's slowing down). She peeks up at the wall at the suggestion. « How do we get up there? » she asks, looking for a path up.

"Sae stop!" Abrael's voice rings out breathlessly as she finally manages to catch up. If Saethiath is small for a green, her partner is equally tiny, standing just barely four foot nine inches. She manages to look doll like even at the end of a brisk run, hair tumbling over her shoulders in a curly cascade. "You can't tell. little. dragons. to… oh." But there, is a B'ryl, and a stranger, and overcome by her characteristic shyness, Abrael falls silent again, unconsciously allowing her hair to fall into her face and half cover it. She shrugs the satchel on her shoulder slightly higher. Dripps of orange paint highlight her laughter. « You must jump. » Clearly she forms the mental image for the small green, disregarding Abrael's half-formed order.

B'yrl slows to a stop, and glancing over to the newest (though temporary) addition to the erea, he gives a light smile to Abrael. "Good eventide." he greets. "Your dragon, full of energy, is an interesting match to mine. Make aquantence with Xianeth." What Abrael said a moment ago isn't lost. "What shall one not tell little dragons to do?" he inquires. Xia looks up at the wall, taking in the mental image. Jump she can do! She's sure of it, though she's never tried! She carefully gauges the wall, and starts to make a run for it.

"Oh, oh, um, um…" Abrael is not very sure of herself, for all her turn-now as a rider. She shifts her weight, biting her lips, but she can't stay quiet when, "You need to stop her!" It finally tumbles out in jumble as she looks worriedly at the little green. Saethiath, of course, just eggs the little one on. Jump Xianeth! Jump!

B'yrl appears confused, but only for a eyeblink. He quickly snaps his head around to look at Xia. He calls out, verbally and mentally, to his headstrong little green. "Xia, desist!" « I can make it! » Xia projects to B'yrl and the other dragon in her confidence, and she jumps! .. The result is less then what she expected, yet more then what B'yrl expected. She can definitely jump, but her aim isn't good enough. She flops against the wall, fortunately mostly paws first, then embrassingly flops to the ground. B'ryl breaks into a run over to her to check on her.

Much too polite to say I told you so… Abrael ghosts after the pair, looking distressed. Saethiath joins, twining her tail reassuringly about her tiny lifemate, while reaching forward to nudge the small green with her nose. « You forgot to land on your feet. » There's stress of yellow in her painting, among hundreds of droplets of bold laughter.

B'yrl carefully checks Xia over. She's dazed for a worrying moment, but then she gives movement.. and it's to tail-swat at Saethiath. « Your jump didn't work! I'm gunna have to find a better one! » she claims with some rather loud-sounding bright fireworks in her mindscape, then nudges up at B'ryl. He gives a relieved smile, and carefully picks her up and brushes her up. "Let us practice, before the large steps, the small ones in jumps." « The wall got in the way! I shall get it next time. » she assures him, then wanders around Abrael and Saethiath, looking them over. « I want to take B'yrl exploring! » she suddenly tells Saethiath. Apparently the small crash didn't set her back at all.

A single drip orange slicks across Xianeth's mind, twisting among the gay colors of the fireworks. « It would have worked. If you were less small. » She's completely unrepentant about whatever harm she may have caused to come upon the little dragon. As Xianeth moves near Saethiath will attempt to bowl the little green over completely. Abrael, for her part, retreats into shyness, allowing her gregarious lifemate do the talking for now.

Xia straightens up at the mention she's small. But her attention is snagged away by the other dragon trying to tackle her down. She scoots out of the way, mostly, just in time. Her tail gets landed on though, but only a wince is given. « You woulda got me if you were less large. » she retorts, and tugs on her tail.

Saethiath doesn't mean to harm, and releases the moment the feeling of hurt slips down the mental bond. « I would have gotten you if I tried little Xineth. Soon, you will be bigger, and I will. » Cat curious, and because it's good for Abrael, Saethiath unwinds herself from about Abrael, and abandons her lifemate to dubious conversation with the other human. Crouching downward, her haunches lifted slightly upwards, she'll meet the small dragon gaze for gaze. « You wished to pay? Then we should play! »

« You'll try. » Xia tells Sae, though her mental tone seems to be lighter, and almost humored. She looks the other dragoness straight in the eyes, as if she's every bit as big as the other, when Sae leans down. « Let's go play! .. What should we play? I want to try swimming! » B'ryl doesn't seem to have a problem without her being right beside him, but he keeps a good eye on her, and keeps a constant mental link open with her, with her sharing with him what others think at her. "The bathhouse, being off limits, is not accessible to you, Xia."

« Pounce. » Saethiath's chocie of came comes clearly, as Saethiath changes her position to put her sights on a small push off to one side. Squaring herself she uses powerful hindquarters to jump and flatten said bush. « Perhaps you should try something smaller. » The painting suggests something like a bug. She's teasing. Abrael sighs again. "Saethiath isn't the… most careful…" her voice is much too quiet as she reaches to adjust her satchel again.

Xia huffs slightly at the suggestion of trying something smaller.. particularly a bug. So she locates a bigger bush, and pounces at it! Only to have the bush eat her all except wings and tail. B'yrl watches the two dragons carefully, and gives a slight nod to Abrael. "A strong-headed dragon Xia is, as well." he tells Abrael, then glances over as Xia pounces into the bush, giving a slight chuckle. He riens in the chuckle though a moment later. « Get me up so I can try again. » "Alright, I'm here." he says, reaching down to dig Xia out of the bush. "Shall we be seeing you again?" he inquires of Abrael. "Rest I believe we should have first." « No nap. I can pounce bigger bushes then Saethiath! » she insists. After a look from B'yrl she amends at him and Saethiath, « .. after our nap. » she decides.

« Naps are quite fun also little one. » Saethiath giggles within Xianeth's mind, and retreats back to Abrael's side. "Maybe?" Her voice is quiet as she reaches up to pull herself onto Saethiath's side. "I'll… see you." It's hard to see if that whisper even reaches, as the energetic Saethiath jumps into the sky, taking away her tiny shy rider.
